That's what their advert says. Will there be any direct trains from the West Midlands to Wembley ? Just wondered if they ever do any 'specials' (old school ! )

The rail industry works on confirming rail timetables including changes for engineering work on a 12 week horizon, so yes, in the main cheap advance tickets (fixed to a specific train) are released around 12 weeks ahead across the whole network.

However, as there is generally very little engineering work in the week, some long distance companies have trialled longer booking windows, up to 24 weeks ahead, for weekdays only when timetables are more stable.

Avanti West Coast have a 24 week booking horizon for advance fares, so you should be able to get midweek cheap tickets from Birmingham/Manchester/Liverpool etc to Euston already:

    https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/ticket-and-discounts/understanding-tickets/advance

most train companies won't be doing that though.

Thomas Cook used to organise 'football specials' for some of the Prem clubs for away days where there were no trains back after the game (i.e. midweek/monday night). Chelsea in particular used to run a lot, but with Thomas Cook going bust i haven't seen any being organised since.

Any Chiltern trains from the West Mids to Marylebone will stop at Wembley Stadium station on a match day, even if the original timetable doesn't show it as stopping there.

Thanks Christian. I don't usually like booking anything too far in advance (just me ). Guess I just have to overcome that side of me as well. Been looking at different routes by train, especially for the Friday night game , and the final. Trying to judge how long does it will take after the game to get to either Wembley Cenrral or Wembley Stadium train station ?

For the semi-final and final remember to take account of the possibility of extra time and penalties.

Wembley Stadium station is almost in the shadow of the Stadium - just a few minutes away. Wembley Central is quite a bit further away.

No drinks either eh Duncan hehe

Extra time for the final is the worry..especially when we win on penalties ! I'm going to see if I can book a hotel that costs little or nothing to cancel at shortish notice.

Wembley Stadium station on Google maps says about 10 minute walk so will book my train to there. Thanks guys for all the info.
