EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

general ballot instead of travel club ballot

has anyone else been told they are in general ballot instead of travel club ballot?

I have, despite doing everything correctly and having a copy of my application which shows my membership number.

did it exactly the same way as my mate who has got tickets.

UEFA said isn't their fault.

I cant get in contact with ESTC.

It's being discussed on a couple of threads already Yoni. I think you've contributed to these too

One of these other threads is within the ESTC member part of the forum too.

Unfortunately, when entering the General ballot, it asked for a "Fan club Membership Number".

I know this because my wife, who is NOT in the Travel Club, applied in the General Ballot - and got to this question asking "Fan club Membership Number". It allowed her to proceed by putting an X in the field.

So, Yoni, having a copy of your application which shows your membership number doesn't mean you were necessarily in the Travel Club ballot.

It seems like you somehow ended up going into the General ballot but thought you were in the Travel Club ballot because it asked the "Fan club Membership Number" question.

I can see why UEFA are saying it isn't there fault. But equally the process has been far from clear.

Unfortunately I don't think your application showing that you entered your FAN proves anything i.e as to which ballot you entered.
I am an ESTC member and entered the FA ballot but my other half is not an ESTC member and entered the general ballot and was still prompted for a FAN. It said to enter 0 on his application if FAN not applicable

IF this is what happened to all of us (I'm still awaiting reply from UEFA)...

What are the realistic chances in the General Sale ballot? We went for Category 2 for all and said we'd be flexible in our categories as well. Had 12 caps so not huge but thought we'd be guaranteed group games at least.

    In reply to Matthew Isle:

I was in the Travel Club ballot. And my wife went into the General ballot.

Hopefully the following information will help people ascertain which ballot they entered:

    (1) "Application submitted" email from UEFA (in December)

For the Final, my email stated "Conditional Match".
For the Final, my wife's email stated "Tickets".

    (2) Logging in to UEFA account

When I log in there is an England banner at the top of the screen.
When my wife logs in there is no such banner.

I appreciate though this doesn't answer the question about the utter confusion over how some people ended up in the General ballot.

And here is another way of checking which ballot you were in …

Go to the website for the General ballot portal … euro2020.tickets.uefa.com/.../welcome_en.html

And log in. For me (who entered Travel Club ballot) I get a message saying "you already have an application in The FA Ticket Portal". Whereas my wife (who entered the General ballot) can of course see her application

I’m in the same boat as a few of you on here in that I’ve got tkts for me through the travel club ballot and the misses got hers through the UEFA sales last year . We’ve clicked on the group booking so I guess that means we should be sat together
    What do yous think ?

Highly doubt it, the point of the travel club allocation is for all members to be sat together as a big group, so i cant see them mingling the travel club and general sale tickets.

    In reply to Graham Morrison:

Graham, I'd have thought very unlikely that you'd be sat together. The tickets allotted to the Travel Club are normally quite separate (in terms of the section of the stadium) to the those from the General ballot.

We had a similar situation for the Nations League Finals in Portugal. Some tickets through the Travel Club; some through the General sale; same Category. We put in the Group ID. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, we were not sat together.

    on my application it states
In the likely event the demand that the demand exceeds the number of available tickets all valid and correct applications will go in a Radom draw
When I questioned tis to UEFA replied The results of the general Ballot will be known in the next few days 100% I applied via England Travel Club UEFA have messed up

I'd recommend, Dean, going to the website for the General ballot portal … euro2020.tickets.uefa.com/.../welcome_en.html

And log in. For me (who entered Travel Club ballot) I get a message saying "you already have an application in The FA Ticket Portal". Whereas my wife (who entered the General ballot) can of course see her application. That'll tell you which ballot you ended up entering.

The problem appears to be that both portals looked identical at the time of application. So you can understand how people weren't actually aware of which one they were actually in.

Understand what you are saying Ian but Im pretty sire I had to enter a code to apply for travel club tickets so I just cannot understand why I am now in a general ballot dispite being a member of the travel club

I’m in the same boat. We are sent an access code by the supporters club, enter our FAN ID, confirm we support England and then somehow we are in a general ballot.
Makes no sense. All the money attending games, paying memberships and travelling to be outdone by a poor process
