Group ID tips

Cant find any info on forum.....

2 of us on 28 caps have made a joint application.

A mate has 8 and applied individually.

Another mate has 4 caps and applied individually.

Whats the best way to link up the group ID's so we have a chance to sit together for the matches we are all successful for?

a) Both individual applications link up to the 2 x 28 application

b) The 8 cap links to the 2 x 28 application and the 4 cap links to the 8 cap

c) The 2 x 28 application is left alone and the other 2 link up

Cheers

Whoever was the first to apply should have been given a group ID, if all of the subsequent applications use that ID then they should all be linked together.

    In reply to Andrew McCarthy:

Your best bet is for the 8 cap to give his Group ID to the 2 x 28 and to the 4.

The 2 x 28 might be successful at a less expensive ticket category than the 8 or 4 because they have more caps. If applications are linked and they are NOT allocated the same category then the linking will have no effect as members with different categories cannot be sat together. If this were to happen, you would at least want the 8 cap and the 4 cap to be sat together. This would not happen if they had both linked to the 2 x 28 instead of linking to each other.

Why choose the 8 rather than the 4 : because the 8 has a better chance than the 4 of getting the same category as the 2 x 28. Indeed, you don't say which matches you've applied for, but the lower cappers might not even get a ticket for some matches.

It won't help you now as the deadline has passed but reading into the Uefa FAQ's it would appear that group ID's can be linked up after you have the ballot results. I think this was done for the Nations league finals? Hopefully it will help someone else.

This obviously assumes that you all get the same categories. support.tickets-euro2020.uefa.com/.../360010532280-Will-allocated-seats-be-next-to-each-other-

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: adaptability and focus will be key on the Manaus pitch

I’ve played on some shocking pitches in my time – I remember playing for Chelsea in ‘the battle of Stamford Beach’ against Charlton back in 2003 and the condition of the surface can often play into your favour if you’re the home side. There may be a slight advantage for the South and Central American sides, but for England against Italy it is a level playing field – pardon the pun...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Italy’s tropical trials could lend a hand to England

A few days ago I was on the Rio underground when someone came up to me to give me his World Cup predictions. He recognised me from my appearances on Brazilian TV, and he wanted to tell me that there were two teams that were going to spring a surprise in the World Cup: France, and England. Many in Brazil lost patience with England after South Africa 2010. The feeling over here before that tournament was that England...

blogs: David Stone: Not even the mighty Amazon can hold us back

I've been back in England for a few days now and had the chance to reflect on what was yet another cracking away trip with the Three Lions. The Honduras game, as many predicted, was a very tough affair with the referee offering England limited protection against some rather nasty tackles. The result, while disappointing, did not particularly matter to be honest. It was far more important that England had a good...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Protests vie with World Cup feelgood for centre stage in Brazil

Last Sunday I commentated on the match between Italy and Brazilian club side Fluminense, staged in Volta Redonda, a hundred miles or so outside Rio. The match kicked off at 5.30pm in the afternoon. I arrived at the ground six hours earlier - and already there were plenty of supporters gathering. Many of them were Fluminense fans. Others had Italian affiliations. But lots had come (and at the equivalent of nearly £30...
