EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Follow My Team Tickets

I have applied for tickets for the three group games, plus the final. For the three group games I selected the £125 tickets and also asked to be given tickets either one category higher or lower if my chosen category is not available. I also applied for £85 'follow my team' tickets for the final. I am confused about the following, so would appreciate any advice before 2pm tomorrow, so I can edit my application if necessary.

1) If I am allocated tickets for the final, am I correct in thinking that if England don't qualify for the final, I will be refunded for the 'follow my team' final tickets?

2) Although I have selected £85 'follow my team' final tickets, is there a possibility that I will ultimately be allocated the £295 non-follow-my-team tickets if there aren't enough £85 tickets to go round? If this is the case, could I end up paying £295 per ticket even if England don't qualify for the final - otherwise I would not be able to buy any tickets I am allocated for the group matches, as it's 'all or nothing' once the tickets are allocated?

3) Assuming this is the case, to guard against having to pay a huge bill for tickets that I don't necessarily want (if England don't qualify), is my best bet to continue with my application for £125 tickets for the three group matches, and the £85 'follow my team' tickets for the final, but change the application to NOT allow me to be allocated tickets either one category higher or lower if my chosen category is not available - so I would get £125 tickets for the group matches (or nothing, if I am not allocated tickets), and £85 tickets to the final if England qualify (or nothing, if I am not allocated tickets)?

I appreciate any clarification you can give me...

    1) Yes thats right, if you're allocated tickets to the final and England don't make it this far, they will be refunded after the tournament.
    2) I think you're getting "follow my team" confused with "fans first". Fans first tickets are just a cheaper version of category 3, there approx only 3000 of these for the final. If you dont have enough caps to be allocated a fans first ticket, then providing you have enough caps for a catgeory 3 ticket, and have ticked the box to accept higher categories this is what you will get, which is £295. Again, this will be refunded if England dont make it to the final. You're correct, its all or nothing, you either buy all the tickets youre allocated or you forfeit everything.
    3) Based on your caps level, there's virtually 0 chance of you being allocated the £95 tickets to the final, so by not ticking the box to accept higher categories, you're basically ruling yourself out of getting a final ticket. This also applies to the group games, there's a chance you may not have enough caps to receive a category 2 ticket, so by not ticking the option to be upgraded you again run the risk of missing out altogether.

Assuming you are referring to England tickets bought through:

    euro2020-eng.tickets.uefa.com

Id refer you that all these questions and more are answered here:

    www.thefa.com/.../euro-2020-faqs.

The tickets are in € btw not £. And with the recent currency movements that's a little (welcome) difference

    In reply to Andrew McCarthy:

Thanks for the information, that's really helpful.

You're right, I am getting confused between Follow My Team and Fans First by the looks of it. To avoid any more confusion, I am more than happy to pay 295 per ticket for the final if England make it - but, from what you are saying, if I accept higher categories and end up being allocated 295 tickets for the final, I would still be refunded if England don't make the final. Have I understood that correctly? i.e. there is no way I would end up paying 295 for tickets if England don't make the final.

It sounds like picking the 125 category, then accepting higher categories if necessary, will maximise my chance of getting some tickets for the group games - would you say that's a fair summary? I obviously accept that people with more caps will naturally deserve the tickets before me, so I know I'm unlikely to get everything (or anything...) I apply for - but you never know; if you don't ask, you don't get!

Thanks again for the clear (and very prompt) advice Andrew. I really appreciate it.

Thanks Matthew. You're right about the EUROS, of course. I just mistyped! Thanks for the link. I'll have a look now.

If you buy a conditional ticket and England do not make the final then you will receive a refund through UEFA. As per the FAQ.
