EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Uefa administering EF rules for Euros

Anyone have an idea how this will work? Are we confident that Uefa will run this as per the EF membership rules. I think I'm borderline for tickets as 10 caps come draw time.

On the Uefa ticketing website it had a page with the qualified teams (not updated to

reflect England yet) but seemed to suggest that every eligible application would have equal chance?

Are we sure that the 70% system will be honoured by Uefa?

Simple: the FA conduct the official association allocation ticketing process on behalf of UEFA; therefore the 70% rule will be adhered to

When the ticket application window closes, UEFA will send to the FA a computer file of all the ESTC members who submitted applications and what they applied for. The FA will determine the successful applications according to the ESTC rules and then return the file to UEFA. UEFA will then send emails telling each applicant whether they have been successful.

Not every country has a loyalty scheme and, for those that don't, there probably is an equal chance of success for everyone.

The UEFA web page you're referring to might be describing the situation for the general public lottery which took place last summer. There, everyone did have an equal chance.

I'm not sure that UEFA have yet got round to publishing how the December sale will work.

If you click on the qualified teams and they have a supporters’ club it tells you to join the team’s supporters’ club and that supporters clubs get priority.

I imagine that will apply to England too.

No I figured it out of the qualified teams that I clicked on it was Poland and they don't have a scheme maybe? On Italy it references that you have to be a member of their supporters club (Viva azzurro)

David, following on from this, i am just double checking as will be my first application for a tournament. I will be on 9 caps when the application period is open. if i apply for all games and all categories will i then get an email saying i have been successful for group games & semi final should they get there. Do you think i have better chance of getting more tickets by being flexible with the Cat prices

    In reply to Daniel Rosen:

    1) The more flexible you are with ticket cats the more chance you have (as a lower capper). The higher cappers generally want the cheapest so aiming for the higher ones will increase chances.

    2) Each match you apply for is individually decided upon and in the past you've been able to select differing cats for different matches.

    3) You'll almost certainly receive one email in total showing the results for all the matches you've applied for.

Cheers for that Matt, I’m hoping this is the same, i’m on 28 caps and I was hoping to apply for the cheaper ones at Wembley and then be willing to accept the dearer ones for the R16 and Quarters. I didn’t know if this would be possible though.

Will the FA release The number of tickets we have for each category? The last tournament I went to was France and I can’t remember how it worked.

They have done in more recent tournaments to help guide us to which category to go for.

I'm not aware that the ticket allocation split per cat per match for the ESTC tickets is out there yet.

I guess, if they're are able to get this info, it means less work for them too (in terms of answering individual member questions).

Edit - this is from the ESTCs latest email:

Full category splits will be confirmed at a later date. We recommend that you submit your application as early as possible to allow for any possible changes and to ensure you don't make any errors.

Will the FA release The number of tickets we have for each category?

This information is very important for members when it comes to deciding which category to apply for and whether to be flexible regarding being moved to a more expensive category if your first choice is sold out. Although the recent FA bulletin says that full category splits will be confirmed at a later date, this depends on whether UEFA give them the figures. For Euro 2016, the FA tried very hard to get category splits. Part way through the ticket sales window, this is as good as we got. (Note there were 4 ticket categories at Euro 2016.)

We are pleased to advise that we have received some information regarding the category split for each of our group matches. We have not been provided with exact capacity by category, and are now unlikely to receive this before the application deadline on the 18th January, but we can provide some useful information regarding the category split.

For all three matches, the largest allocations are in category 3 with approximately 50% of tickets per match in this category. This is followed by category 2 which has the next largest allocation. Both categories 1 and 4 have the smallest allocations. We would recommend that members apply for either category 2 or 3 in the first instance and then tick the box to accept a ticket in an adjacent category. This will give you the best chance of ensuring that you can access a ticket.

I went to a few egg chasing games in Japan. For those tickets, the entire sides were all cat 1 tickets, and cats 2/3/4 were behind the goals only. How long before UEFA cotton on to this and make the majority of tickets at the most expensive category?

Is this not already the case Peter? I know its a different tournament, but for the world cup I had cat 2 tickets for group games and semi final in Brazil, and they were all in the top corners in the stadium. Part of me thinks cat 3 (behind the goal) would have been better than those seats, but probably harder to get cos of more applications?

Note: I did get my tickets direct from Fifa website, so not sure if the tickets purchased through FA are slightly better/lower tier etc?
