England v Slovenia: Travel Update

Posted by Team England at 16:05 on Monday 02 October 2017

Update 3 October: Aslef have confirmed that Thursday's strike by London Underground drivers has been called off. London Underground services will run as normal and the additional travel services listed below will remain in place.

England’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Thursday 5 October will still be going ahead irrespective of the planned tube strike.

The FA is committed to helping as many supporters as possible attend the match.

Over the past few days we have been working with Transport for London [TfL] and our transport partner, National Express, to set up a range of transport options to help you get to and from Wembley.

These additional services will remain in place even if the strike is cancelled. These include:

An enhanced coach network to Wembley Stadium from across the UK, courtesy of Official Coach Supplier National Express. For more information and to book visit the National Express website.

In addition, a shuttle service for ticket holders only from Waterloo and King's Cross rail stations will be available. There is a £1 booking fee and bookings can be made from midday on Tuesday 3 October. Please visit the National Express Wembley shuttle service to secure your seat.

TfL will be running more buses to the Stadium. Check out the TfL bus map for a full list of buses travelling to Wembley Stadium and please remember to allow extra time for your journey to the stadium.

Additional parking has also been secured – please pre-book via the Wembley Park portal.

If the strike goes ahead and you are no longer able to attend the match, you will automatically be refunded within 28 days onto the original payment card used.

We thank supporters for their understanding and hope to see as many of you as possible for this penultimate World Cup qualifier.

I booked a train on the Chiltern line about 20 mins before strike called off, no problem I thought  let the train take the strain. If only lie was that simple....when I arrived at my local station Warwick Parkway, the rail company had decided that trains wouldn't be stoping  at Wembley stadium before or after the game which meant I was unable to attend the match!
