EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Allocation

What is the likely allocation for the travel club should we win tonight and play  our rd16 game at Wembley?

Returning your ticket doesn't make a difference for the L16 and quarter final. ESTC said those who returned tickets would be in the same ballot as those who didn't return tickets for those two games due to uncertainty around travel.

I was expecting allocation to be much higher than 2403 even before ESTC start negotiating with UEFA for last minute returned tickets from opposition.

In group games our allocations have all been in the 2500 range (Czech game was 2855) before the last minute boosts of 600 to 750 extra tickets and that was at 25% capacity.

Remember, this match was originally meant to be in Dublin where capacity is only 51k - so wouldn't the original allocation of 4806 be based on that capacity, and thus now we move to Wembley at 50% capacity we can very nearly accommodate everybody who originally had a ticket for the original Dublin game?

Given that we could also end up in Copenhagen for 2nd round where full capacity is only 38k, the lowest stadium capacity in the tournament, in theory, the original allocation of 4806 back in 2019 could have been based on us ending up there.... as UEFA would not know which stadium each team will play in, it can only work on offering each national association advance tickets for playing in the smallest stadium and then up the allocation once it's confirmed they are playing in a bigger one.

Is there a caps table for pre euros? What do you reckon for 19 caps?

Have a read the posts above Sam.

The couple of answers I've given to other members, with their previous caps levels, should help you and others too.

    Good luck

Mate final shout for me on this one today but need to point you in the right direction.

    It's 7237 to guarantee on 19 caps.

Obviously not everyone will have applied (so in reality it'll be lower) but that's what you need to guarantee.

    Have a good day all

Rather annoyingly, I applied for and got all tickets through to the final, except for Dublin R16, which I did not apply for.
If it’s at Wembley, I would like to go. I have 32 caps. Anyone know where I stand?

I’m very optimistic about this. Probably shouldn’t be.but surely, I had a ticket for the last 16, going from a 50,000 to a 40,000 surely, all of us who originally had tickets have a great chance. I know Matt isle and David Lilley will come back with a very reasonable explanation why it might not happen (both of your post on this page are always very helpful and informative and we’re All very greatful for this) but surely you can give us some good news for this one

44 caps, allocation of 2100 required and a gap in the day at work to sneak off to toilets to secure a ticket…. Hopefully!

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
