EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

UEFA email advising of tickets

I have just had an email from UEFA with the subject heading:

We Have Tickets for you!

When I log in it shows me the three England group games with a few different options, only Cat 1 for Croatia, a few different cats for the other 2 games.

I am reluctant to pay for these as I have gone through the FA to be put on the waiting list and don't want it to affect my chances through the FA but my question is...

The Fa must now know how many tickets they've been able to secure if UEFA are already offering me some and when are we likely to hear from the FA, as I would've expected they'd have notified us before UEFA...

I think I got it straight away as I almost too early, part of me thinks UEFA made a mistake, cos I have since come out and it's now telling me it opens at 14:00.

Tried to grab a couple of different ones, kept kicking me out, I’m pretty sure they’ve not meant to open the portal as it’s not advertised anywhere yet, assuming it’ll reopen at 2pm tomorrow. Imagine the FA will have to give an update some time early tomorrow.

As soon as you stick the access code in, it states its not valid as this is a UEFA sale not ESTC sale.

The ESTC have put an update on their FB page for ESTC members.

Basically, for ESTC members who applied in the wrong section (UEFA rather than FA) in December and you've received this email from UEFA, it's up to you if you apply for tickets for Second Chance General Sale via UEFA.

But if you do, you'll not be then allowed to be on the ESTC waiting list for these same tickets.

The ESTC team are hoping to have an update, for those members who erroneously applied, next week.

If someone is able to paste the today's full update then the non FB members might be appreciative.

    In reply to Matthew Isle:

    Here it is from FA:

We're aware that UEFA are offering some supporters (of all nations) the opportunity to apply again for tickets in their General Public Sale.

This opportunity is currently available to selected supporters who're registered with UEFA and applied through the General Public Sale only.

This means that Travel Club members who mistakenly applied through the General Public sale and were unsuccessful with their application in January may have the opportunity to apply again with UEFA directly.

It is entirely up to you whether you wish to apply now through UEFA's second-chance General Public Sale, but if you do, you will not be able to buy the same tickets again via the Travel Club waiting list.

We hope to make an update next week regarding additional tickets for Travel Club members for the tournament.

    In reply to damian kirkman:

The code is the access code you’d have received in the email from the FA when advised to apply for tickets in the ESTC ballot, but is now not valid as that sale period is over. Just leave the box blank.

Sounds as if some have taken.up this offer and paid for the tickets and then gone onto purchase flights and accommodation.

But then they've received an email from UEFA that their tickets have been cancelled and issued with a refund.

    Not ideal.

    In reply to Matthew Isle:

We've received a number of emails overnight from members unhappy with UEFA's process. We'd just like to clarify that the tickets UEFA offered were in the General Public Sale and were available to anyone who is registered with UEFA - not just Travel Club members.

Any tickets offered via UEFA yesterday would not have counted meber's caps as these only apply to The FA'S allocation of tickets.

Furthermore, we do not control or have access to UEFA's ticketing portal so we do not know what the issue was in terms of supporters being refunded tickets after purchasing them.

We've asked the question to UEFA to find out what the issue was but have not been advised. However, they have confirmed that any tickets sold yesterday will not affect the number of tickets we may be offered to sell directly to Travel Club members.

We still have our waiting list in plac; again, it is entirely up to Travel Club members who made mistakes with their application to wait and see if we can assist them or go directly to UEFA via their General Public sale but we have no control or access to those tickets.

If you choose to buy tickets directly through UEFA, you will not be able to apply for the same tickets again via the ESTC waiting list or swap them for we have acquired.

We understand a small number of fans are unhappy with the process and having to wait for us, but we'd like to remind you that for both the Russia World Cup and EURO 2016, we did acquire a further allocation of tickets and assisted many Travel Club members in the build-up to and during each tournament with additional tickets.

We hope to make an update early next week with information on any additional tickets, the process for allocating them and instructions on how to make payment.

Sounds as if some have taken.up this offer and paid for the tickets and then gone onto purchase flights and accommodation.

But then they've received an email from UEFA that their tickets have been cancelled and issued with a refund.

If they bought unconditional tickets for the R16 or quarter final, the most likely explanation for the order being cancelled and refunded is that they already have a conditional ticket for that round through the FA allocation. It's been stated many times on this forum than you cannot have a conditional ticket and an unconditional ticket which could potentially take you to the same match or to two matches on the same day.

Depending on our results in the group matches, our pathway through the tournament could take England to any of 5 R16 venues (Dublin, St Petersburg, Bilbao, Budapest and Glasgow) whilst the Bucharest R16 is on the same day as the Copenhagen R16. Also, our pathway could take us to any of the 4 quarter finals. If a Travel Club member did have conditional tickets through the FA allocation then the only knock out match they could get a ticket for from the UEFA general public sale requiring them to take a flight would be the Amsterdam R16.

If these members bought tickets for group matches to attend as neutrals then it's not so obvious why the orders would have been cancelled.

    In reply to David Lilley:

I've just tried to get into the general public sale portal to see what's available. (My son got nothing last summer and I could alert him to what is on offer.) I received this message :

    You already have an application!
You cannot apply in this portal because you already have an application in The FA Ticket Portal

If there is a rule that you cannot apply through the general public sale if you have applied through the FA allocation then my explanation above is wrong. But that's weird. People who applied last summer through the general public sale were still able to apply in December through the FA allocation so why would it be banned to do this the other way round ?
