EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Flight query

Just like most people weighing my options up for flights . I’ve booked a return flight to Dublin for last 16 game flying out day of game flying back day after . If we win can I book another flight to Rome the next day and obviously not turn up for my return flight back to the uk ie have 2 flights booked possibly at the same time . The flight might be with Ryanair going to Rome so this could cause problems or would I be ok if it was with another airline carnt find an answer to it

As long as they have your money I don't think Ryanair would care.

Airlines do not let under 14's travel by themselves, I assume you are a child

If you miss the outgoing flight then airlines will usually cancel your homeward flight. But, if you take the outward flight and miss the homeward flight then I wouldn't expect them to do anything. Just don't check in for the homeward flight unless and until you are certain that you will use it, otherwise you might hold up the take off and inconvenience the other passengers.

Your main problem is not going to be whether Ryanair will allow you to book a flight from Dublin to Rome. Your problem will be the availability of flights at such short notice. By all means, your Plan A can be to catch the Ryanair flight to Rome the next day. But you should also consider using your return flight to the UK and getting to Rome from your local airport. This would give you more options.

All flights that I have enquired about have stated categorically that I would receive no refund should I wish to cancel between the end of the group matches and the start of the round of 16 matches and then the quarter finals. I am wondering whether to gamble on England finishing first in Group D and then going down the Dublin/Rome route. But if it's Copenhagan/St. Petersburg as a result of finishing second then it's a lot of money to lose. And then there's also a possibility of qualifying with a third place finish with other destinations.
What would be the chance of getting seats on planes if waiting until England's path as been firmly decided in the group matches?

I wouldn't worry about booking flights to Rome tbh. It's a lot of money to spend on something that may well not happen. There's always the option of flying to somewhere like Milan or Naples and jumping on a train.

You can book a fully refundable flight. I've booked cheap flights to Dublin and Milan (non-refundable) and a refundable flight to St Petersburg. Will sort Copenhagen if necessary as that's a bit easier than St Petersburg.

I haven't researched this thoroughly but I suggest you take a look at S7 Airlines for a refundable flight to St Petersburg. They're a Russian outfit. I'm not sure whether they fly direct to St Petersburg from England but I'm sure they would have a route via Moscow.

For the World Cup, I had a return flight booked from Moscow to Rostov with S7 in case we won the group. That ticket was cancellable for a full refund less a trivial admin fee.
