EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

People Who Havent Received Email...

Hi all,

So i havent receiced an email and I though on 6 active caps, 10 total I would be more or less gaurenteed group stage tickets especially tickeing the price upgrade button.

I sent a support ticket to Uefa yesterday asking if there had been an issue with the application and they replied with:

"Dear Matt,

Thank you for your email.

The results of the general sale have not been announced yet.

All applicants will be notified by email about the outcome of their application by the end of January 2020.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
UEFA Ticketing Customer Service"

I put in my England FAN number so didnt apply for general..... perhaps I and other people who haven't received an email have applied in a different section by mistake etc?

Not sure i anyone can shed any light on this...

Matt

The thing that is angering me the most is my only mistake appears to be going onto the ticketing website and clicking apply there, rather than clicking the link through the FA email. For that to have cost me Cat 3/FF tickets to every game is pretty gutting.

Agreed, but even still you would think they would make it clear "general portal"..... I did the same process as my mate who is also a 40 capper and his portal looked identical to mine, why make them so similar? You would think they would differentiate to avoid human error.

David, I don't think applying for or being allocated tickets for knockout games will effect your application, people will want to attend other games in different cities during the tournament, England could play in 1 of 3 cities in the last 16. I think this just effects group stage. I have bought Rome quarter final tickets through UEFA and also conditional England quarter, which could be Rome, St Petersburg or one other. UEFA cannot stop you attending other games or not allocate you tickets on the off chance that you may or may not already have a ticket for that game.

Erm, I understood England could play their RO16 match in one of FIVE cities?

They are: Dublin, Rome, Bilbao, Budapest or Glasgow, according to the UEFA website.

In answer to the OP, I applied via the link posted on the FA site and got all my tickets.

If we win the group, we play in dublin, second, Copenhagen, haven't looked at third, either way, you can still apply for these games through the general ballot.

I think my error might have come from timing out during the application while I double checked Fan and Passport numbers of other group members. I seem to remember getting the "you need to log back in" message and being taken to a logon page, shame it was the wrong one.

I just went and checked my emails and the one from UEFA confirming my application has a link attached re if I wanted to amend or change my application. When I just clicked on the link, it looks as though it takes me to the general ballot page as it brings up the “you already have an existing application the the FA” message.

Not sure if this means that if you clicked that link before the 18 December cut off, you was automatically taken to the wrong page where the application was amended and re-submitted under the wrong ballot...?

This is what the ticketing T&Cs say.

3.11. An Applicant cannot submit a Request for a Ticket to a Knock-out Match if such Applicant has previously submitted a Request for a Follow My Team Ticket relating to the same Knock-out Match.

You have done it the other way round. You submitted a request for a 'Follow My Team' ticket which could take you to a match for which you have previously (successfully) submitted a request for a 'Ticket to a Knock Out Match'. But the rule must surely still apply. It would be a nonsense if the order in which you acquired the tickets made any difference.

If you've got a ticket to the Rome QF in last summer's UEFA ballot and a conditional QF ticket from the FA allocation then you have managed to slip the ball through the keeper's legs. I'll cross my fingers for you that they don't go to VAR.

Not sure how anyone could have applied for general sale tickets, as for the past twenty years for all tournaments the general sale is on hold wile the Fans members sale is open... I didn't even add my fans member number, did need to, all my details were their from both the summer in Portugal and the world cup...

I don't understand how it's possible either, in all honesty. Nothing in any of the correspondance from the ESTC or UEFA suggested you could go through a wrong portal. There was no indication that you had to click the link in the email to go to the correct site. All it says in everything we received from ESTC was make sure you click England, use your access code, put names and FAN IDs in correctly etc. I did all of that. My application is identical to my mates who have all got their tickets. I'm annoyed with myself for doing it wrong but after combing through all the emails received from ESTC about it, there was never any suggestion it was even possible to apply in the wrong portal. When I get a second today I will be calling them up and asking how they managed to miss this. Might not get me anywhere but has to be done.

The FA News Bulletin explaining how to apply for tickets has dropped off the list on this website. So, to help you with your phone call, here is a link to the bulletin :-

blogs: Sue Smith: England’s forward focus can rattle Uruguay

Before every tournament most people are guilty of thinking a bit higher of England than they probably should - me included, I thought we would beat Italy 2-0! But despite the result I think we must take lots of positives from the performance. It was great to see the players actually go for it in the match and I thought we were quite entertaining. Raheem Sterling was great - every time he got the ball he looked dangerous...

How do you stop Luis Suarez? The key for England will be communication and getting tighter defensively than they did against Italy. There was an uncertainty and a vulnerability to England's defence, particularly down the left, on Saturday night...

blogs: Adrian Bevington: The connection between England’s players and fans at a World Cup cannot be overestimated

Even now I can recall it perfectly. Lucio stumbled and miscontrolled when heading towards his own goal, and Michael Owen seized the moment. I knew at that point, in Shizuoka in 2002, that Michael would score. And I have to confess that at that moment I really did think we are going to win the World Cup. It is an emotion that takes over you, and although it didn’t turn out to be correct, one of the great pleasures...
