EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Fans first tickets .

As anyone any idea what the fans first tickets are I’ve been looking at euro ticket prices . And the semi & final are ridiculously priced . Semis fans first . €85 . Cat 3 €195 cat 2 €345 cat 1 €595..   final fans first €95 cat 3 €295 cat 2 €595 cat 1 €945 . It’s not giving any info on what these are ? These seem reasonably priced are they for members ? And does anyone know will we have to pick our 1st 2nd 3rd Choice’s if we arnt allowed fans first tickets . Or can you just pick one category. Also example can I pick cat 3 only in groups then in last 16 & q/f pick cat 2 with the option of getting cat 3 or 1 . Then in semi & final pick cat 3 only as the semi and final are very expensive can anyone shed any light on this ?

UEFA have issued very little useful information about 'Fans First'. They say that these are essentially category 3 tickets which will be available at a reduced price in order to make these matches affordable to normal fans. 'Fans First' tickets were sold during the UEFA lottery last summer but one of the bits of information which we don't have is whether they will also be available through the FA allocation. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

You can apply for different categories of tickets to different matches.

However, when you indicate whether you would be willing to be moved to the next category if your first choice is oversubscribed, this decision will apply to all matches which you apply for. So you can't pick category 3 only for group matches and then category 2 (with option for 1/3) for R16 and QF.

But I could I Pick cat 3 for groups with option to be moved up to cat 2 then cat 2 for last 16 & q/f with the option of cat 3 or 1 then cat 3 for semi & final with option of being moved up to 2 or is it once you’ve picked your category options it applies too all matches . Ie pick cat 3 with option of being moved to cat 2 for groups then this applies to all matches .or can you also just pick one category but you must stick to it ?

you can pick different categories game by game, but the 'will accept other categories' is for the whole application

So is it right you can be moved up or down a category if you accept to be allocated another category so if I pick cat 3 I can only be moved up a category?

Yes, you could only be moved one category in either direction. So, if you applied for category 3 you could be moved to category 2 but not to category 1.

How 'Fans First' tickets fit into the picture is not clear if, indeed, there are any 'Fans First' tickets in the FA allocation. Anyway, the idea that category 3 tickets might sell out but there's still 'Fans First' tickets available is pie in the sky.

That was the case for Euro 2016, but not in the public sale for Euro 2020 wasn't it? I'm sure there were people who applied for Fans First or Cat 3 tickets in the Euro 2020 public sale who got allocated cat 1s because they ticked the accept other categories button?

That would be a disturbing development which could catapult some applicants into unaffordable territory. The wording in the ticketing T&Cs says :-

In the event that Ticket(s) in the relevant Price Category selected by the Applicant are no longer available, the Applicant may be allocated Tickets in another Price Category provided that the Applicant has expressly authorised UEFA Events SA to do so by clicking the respective field in the Application Form. The Applicant recognises and accepts that by clicking the relevant field, the Applicant may have to pay a Purchase Price corresponding to the Price Category directly lower or higher than the one originally requested, thereby resulting in the payment of a lower or higher Purchase Price.

This is the same wording as in the 2016 ticketing T&Cs. I have interpreted "directly lower or higher" to mean the adjacent category but I could be wrong.
