EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

A Message to Travel Club Members

This tournament has thrown up more than the unexpected. 19 months ago, we were opening applications, running ballots and getting excited about the prospect of Euro 2020… that all changed pretty drastically!
Everything was turned upside down and we had to make some very difficult decisions regarding tickets, refunds and how we would re-ballot the whole tournament. Throughout the entire process we have tried our upmost to be as fair and transparent as we possibly could
We have also tried our best to secure as many additional tickets as possible throughout. This has resulted in late emails and quick, short notice, sales. That being said, our allocations for the knockout games have either run close to, or been over, what we had back in 2019 before the stadium capacities were reduced
We know some of you may have missed out on tickets to certain games, and we are sorry that we could not accommodate everyone, but trust us, we would have done so if we could
To those of you who are attending today, whatever the result, enjoy the occasion. You will play an important role during the match and we know that you will create a special atmosphere, just as you do at every game, home and away.
Lastly, we wanted to thank those of you who have taken the time to thank us either in person, via email or on the forums. It does not go unnoticed and every member of the team is grateful for the kind words.
Come on England!!!

Well done Team England. My tickets were relatively guaranteed based in the caps table but on behalf of those that you helped and all ESTC members that you help in normal times (not just during a tournament) I would like to say how grateful we all are for your support

I would like to say well done as well for keeping us informed and for the quick turnaround after every round

In general when a customer is dissatisfied, at least one in two will complain, but when they are satisfied, only one in ten will make a compliment, so I am writing to be one of the one in ten.

I’d just like to add to hopefully many of the thanks to the ESTC for their outstanding service and efforts over the last month. Their team has I’m sure worked tirelessly to respond to requests, answer our urgent questions and secure as much extra tickets from UEFA as possible in difficult circumstances due to COVID restrictions and changing allocations. We are all deeply disappointed with last night’s result on the pitch but thanks again to all the ESTC team. We go again in Qatar 2022.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Youth or experience for second Miami test?

The game against Honduras tonight is the final chance for a player to stake their claim for that World Cup opener against Italy next Saturday, and warm-up matches are key - just look at Michael Owen at France 98. The build-up to this tournament and that one 16 years ago is similar in many ways because there was a lot of experience in that England squad that I played in, and Michael really burst onto the scene. It was...

blogs: David Stone: Marvellous Miami is just like I pictured it

I've been to the US a few times before, but Miami really lives up to every cultural stereotype you can think of. It's big, bright and brash, not to mention full of hordes of identically-dressed, beautiful people. I’ve been to watch the Miami Marlins, the city's baseball team, in a local derby against the Tampa Bay Rays. While the stadium itself was two-thirds empty, the dozen or so England fans there...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Honduras and Professor Suarez lie in wait for Hodgson's hopefuls

The fitness of the Uruguay striker permitting, England have a date with Luis Suarez on 19 June. First, though, comes an encounter with his namesake on Saturday. Honduras are coached by Luis Fernando Suarez – a man who England fans have cause to...

blogs: Sue Smith: Striking a balance is key during a World Cup

Building up to a major international tournament is strange because you’ve spent so long preparing and then all of a sudden you’re playing in a World Cup – you don’t even think about it you just do your job. I would like to think...

blogs: Marios Papaloizou: Football’s friendly fire is my favourite time of year

Somewhere in-between the nerve-racking qualifying campaigns and the unbearable tension that surrounds a major tournament there occasionally lies a perfect storm of happy sentiment that surrounds the England team. Whether it's Peter Crouch's robot...
