Got a ticket mate. Bought it at half 5 today and me boss telling me I can’t take a couple of hours off work the Wednesday afternoon. I am from up north so won’t be able to make it down to Wembley in less than 2 hours. Paid 167 I think. Do you need an access code?

I have followed England home and away over the last 15 years - just cause I don’t have any caps in the current campaign doesn’t make me not loyal or same as any other supporter . As I have been based aboard for a number of years I’ve made my own ws to games , wAtchd in the home end when I’ve had to etc I’m also not demanding a ticket just if anyone does have one and would rather a genuine fan go than a tout was my thought process on a supporters club forum

Your one bitter man aren’t you. You think you have some right to mock those that don’t have caps because you have been to lots of game. Shame really

i dont think anyone is bitter tbh, more dubious. anyone can pay their £80 (or whatever it costs) to sign up, come on here and clear up tickets from genuine fans and sell them at inflated prices to joe public. just seems odd its generally no cappers asking for the tickets…..if i was a pessimist…..

    apologies if this offends anyone.

Wow. Friendly bunch. As a zero capper (only joined the ESTC 2020-22 scheme) I can understand the scepticism (I am a long time Chelsea FC season ticket holder and never had the time/money to follow England as well and let’s face it England can be quite dull sometimes) but keen to support my country first going forward and we all have to start somewhere! It’s just galling that UEFA are making it easier for touts (buying 4 tickets in general sale and with the app making it so easy to transfer, even Wimbledon have limited general sale tickets to 2 per households across the whole tournament!) I wish to had joined earlier as the Denmark game should be immense and don’t get me started on the UEFA ticket portal….it’s even worse than Chelsea that feels like it was invented in the 1970s!

    In reply to Christopher Hamley:

The mobile ticket app has made it harder for touts, not easier.
Fair play for joining the travel club Christopher (you won't regret it) the majority of the zero cappers have no intention of joining up - they should stay away from this forum and instead beg on the Big Soccer forum instead.

Totally understand why our run is attracting new and lapsed fans.

I mean why wouldn't you want to get involved? Decent results and decent scenes.

Most of the requests I've seen have been polite if cheeky.

I think the frustrating things is that even weeks ago there was the opportunity for new fans to attend two matches in Boro.

    Few took that up.

Am sure loads of us guaranteed with tickets have similar cheeky ticket requests from friends who haven't done the hard miles.

Anyway genuinely good luck to those starting and restarting their England journey. Get collecting for Germany which will definitely be oversubscribed and potentially superb.

Not bitter at all, just because I've spent thousands getting home tickets, flights abroad hotels etc to get the privilege of maybe getting a ticket for the tournament , not not bitter stevie boy.

blogs: Ian Fenwick: England emerging for bright future

I’m someone who is lucky enough work within the FA and the one thing I can say from my experience is that the future of English football is amazingly bright. Of course it’s not enough to always say that the things are going to be good in...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Belo Horizonte a fair setting for England’s new beginnings

Last time the World Cup came to Brazil, England went to the city of Belo Horizonte to be humiliated; it is the scene of that notorious 1-0 defeat to the United States. Perhaps humiliation is too strong a word this time. After all, England’s 2014 World Cup campaign has been marked by single goal defeats to former world champions, whereas back in 1950 the pride of the old First Division went down to what essentially...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: England can bounce back if they take a few risks

After the disappointment of the last two games, it’s vital that England take risks against Costa Rica. We don’t need two holding midfielders, Roy Hodgson has to start Adam Lallana over Danny Welbeck and we should switch to three men at the back. There was a clear opportunity against Uruguay and Italy to go to a back three – it would have allowed us to put some of our inventive players into more creative...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Let’s blow our own trumpet for once – come on England!

I’m used to blowing my own trumpet but not when it comes to predictions – I think we’ll get a result against Uruguay, but I thought we’d beat Italy 4-0! You’ve got to be optimistic as an England fan, sometimes it’s blind optimism but if you do what we do you have to believe. I’ve been following England with the band for 18 years now and it has always been the same. Roy Hodgson...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Uruguay may raise their game away from Fortaleza furnace

In the build-up to the World Cup a Uruguayan company launched an imaginative advertising campaign. Draped in a sky blue sheet, the colour of Uruguay’s shorts, the ghost of 1950 wandered around Rio frightening the locals – no one ever here needs reminding that the last time the World Cup was held in Brazil, Uruguay walked off with the trophy. So there was an element of Brazilian joy at Uruguay’s humiliating...
