UEFA EURO 2020

Follow My Team England

If you had Follow My Team England tickets for the semi and final in the original sale but were then refunded because of the reduced capacity, are you guaranteed tickets for these matches if England get there now that the capacity has been increased ?

No. Even though the Wembley stadium capacity has been increased for these matches, it will still be less than 100% full. We should expect that the original FA allocation for ESTC members will be reduced in the same ratio as the rest of the stadium, i.e. 75% or 60,000 / 90,000 depending on which pledge you believe. So there will still need to be a ballot but only those members who had tickets for the match and didn't voluntarily return them for a refund will be included in the ballot.

As there will still be the 10 day quarantine period in force for arrivals from abroad, the situation might be similar to that for the Germany match. Only UK based fans of our opponents will get tickets from their FA and so it may be possible for our FA to request the unsold tickets to boost the number available to our fans.

I have the same question. I was allocated Semi-Final and Final tickets which were then refunded. I can buy tickets on the UEFA site for both Wembley matches (when the site works properly) and then turn down the tickets from ESTC should I get them in the ballot. Considering the increase in capacity surely the fair thing to do would be to allow all the people that originally had tickets to have them and ballot the remaining tickets?

Ticket sales are completely under the control of UEFA. They decide how many tickets will be allocated to the FA for sale to ESTC members. If UEFA give the FA fewer tickets than the original 2020 allocation because of the reduced stadium capacity then the FA will not be able to allow all the people that originally had tickets to have them again.

The tickets which were not originally allocated to the FAs of the 2 teams in the match were sold to the general public. When reduced stadium capacities were announced some weeks ago, UEFA conducted ballots to see which members of the general public would have their tickets compulsorily cancelled and refunded and who would keep their tickets. Now that the Wembley capacity is going to be more than the 25% guaranteed a few weeks ago, some of the cancelled tickets can be resold. UEFA will give a short exclusive sales period to those people who originally had tickets in the general public sale and had them cancelled.

If there are any general public sale period tickets left over after this exclusive period, what should UEFA do ? Should they make them available to the general public who didn't originally have tickets or should some go to the FA for sale to ESTC members. I'm sure the FA will do their best to get some of these tickets.
