EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Round of 16 Update

England have now qualified from Group D by finishing first on 7 points.

Our Round of 16 fixture will take place on Tuesday 29 June at Wembley Stadium where we will face the second placed team in Group F.

We are still awaiting final confirmation from UEFA on our allocation for this fixture.

We expect to hold the first sales window tomorrow once our allocation and category splits are confirmed, and, hope to be able to share these details with members as soon as we possibly can.

Only thing that might flag it is the use of a non ESTC registered or different email and phone number being used for the purchase. Assuming they are even looking out for that at all. As for at the stadium I’ve not once been questioned as to my identity.

    In reply to Simon Ostcliffe:

The only information I've seen is the percentage splits shown in the original 2019 ticketing brochure. These apply to the tournament as a whole and not necessarily to any individual match.

    50% General public
32% Participating national associations (e.g. ESTC via the FA)
9% Commercial partners (sponsors and broadcasters)
    4% Official hospitality
1% UEFA football family and corporate social responsibility
3% Host countries and host cities
    1% VIP guests

We already know that our original ticket allocation for the R16 was not based on the capacity of Wembley. But for the sake of curiosity, If these percentages were applied to a crowd of 45,000 it would give the following ticket numbers.

    22500 General public
14400 Participating national associations (ESTC + German fan club)
4050 Commercial partners (sponsors and broadcasters)
    1800 Official hospitality
450 UEFA football family and corporate social responsibility
1350 Host countries and host cities
    450 VIP guests

14,400 looks good as Germany won't need hardly any with the 10 day quarantine rules . Someone said original allocation for Dublin was only 5,000 , so maybe another 5,000 for estc members

Excuse my ignorance but how can UEFA not know the ESTC allocation before selling any tickets?

By my reading only 5318 applied for the match in Dublin so should be 2,000 or so available to estc members who didn't apply in round 3 of the sale .

Can we only buy tickets for ourselves or another member who also previously had a ticket? Also can we buy Cat 1 or 2 or only cat 3?

    In reply to Peter Cooksey:

You can buy for a group of 4, if you all get individual access codes. So you can buy for your entire group if they previously had a ticket. Im pretty sure this only works if everyone in the group buys the same category, but everyone is guaranteed cat 3 if they previously had a ticket.

Peter, I should think you would be given the opportunity to buy any cat ticket in round 1

    In reply to Paul Leveridge:

I read it differently. I read it as 4,841 were successful and 5,318 were unsuccessful. So if all 4841 went in Round 1 then Group 2, the unsuccessful applicants, would be chasing 2517 tickets.
It will be more than that though because of the ESTC members who bought in the general sale yesterday.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Youth or experience for second Miami test?

The game against Honduras tonight is the final chance for a player to stake their claim for that World Cup opener against Italy next Saturday, and warm-up matches are key - just look at Michael Owen at France 98. The build-up to this tournament and that one 16 years ago is similar in many ways because there was a lot of experience in that England squad that I played in, and Michael really burst onto the scene. It was...

blogs: David Stone: Marvellous Miami is just like I pictured it

I've been to the US a few times before, but Miami really lives up to every cultural stereotype you can think of. It's big, bright and brash, not to mention full of hordes of identically-dressed, beautiful people. I’ve been to watch the Miami Marlins, the city's baseball team, in a local derby against the Tampa Bay Rays. While the stadium itself was two-thirds empty, the dozen or so England fans there...
