UEFA EURO 2020

Ticket returns

I have 2 tickets for Tuesdays game and I’m not now able to attend. To save me trawling through endless FAQS does anyone know if it’s possible to return them ‘legally’ and get a refund? Thanks.

I'm not sure but can you transfer them to another member? I have tickets myself but know a couple of members that don't and might be interested (if it's within the rules.) Let me know if you find out. They are ETSC members and would be willing to pay face value in advance.

I'd also gladly take them off you. I had a miserable time this morning on the UEFA sale and couldn't get any, as always..

Hi Andy, I've sent you an email. You can legally transfer them to another person. I had tickets originally and lost out in the ballot. Would love to take 1 or both off your hands. Cheers, Paul

but to strictly answer your question, I don't think you can, the FA is directing us to the UEFA return portal, which has closed in May: www.thefa.com/.../uefa-ticket-refund-portal-050520.

    Great questions.

Christopher - Officially the ESTC rules are no transfers to anyone but the original applicants, even if the system allows it and are advised that forwarding email addresses are monitored.

Andrew - Also UEFA has no resale portal or method for returning at this time.

I guess you could contact the ESTC team to see if they were able to redistribute but whether they'd want to get involved with crediting you and be able to move the ticket from you is another question.

    Not much help am afraid.

Thanks guys... I’ll contact Team England. The UEFA site refers the National Team tickets issues back to the originators.

I will be on the case first thing tomorrow. I have a very good reason for not being able to attend now so I’ll see what they have to say.

    In reply to Andrew Hookway:

It is not possible to submit your ticket for a refund.

If you are unable to attend for medical reasons then UEFA's T&Cs permit you to assign the ticket to a family member or friend. It is not clear whether the FA would allow this as their ticket allocation is exclusively for ESTC members but, if your nominee is also an ESTC member, then they ought to be OK with it.

The T&Cs do not define what is a medical reason. If you have been required to self-isolate because you have tested positive for covid-19 or you have come into contact with someone else who tested positive then it can be argued that this is a medical reason.

The mechanics of assigning the ticket has not been published. However, if you look at your ticket where it says 'Ticket kept for your name' there is an edit icon. If you click that icon it gives you the option to assign the ticket to a new guest. I've never clicked that option but would guess that it is there for 'medical reason' ticket assigning.

Not sure if it helps but the two people that I know who are interested are both ETSC/ESC members. Or perhaps Team England may include the tickets in the ballot? Either way hope Andrew isn’t left out of pocket.
