EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

England Scotland Ballot

Well, some of us waited until 1pm (UK) and the expected sight of tickets and a place for the access code is nowhere to be seen. What on earth has happened ? Were they all sold before the appointed time ?

Yeah I wished that they didn’t dangle that carrot in front of me of a chance getting a ticket. Anyway hopefully will be able to get a ticket for the last 16 if we qualify obviously

Has ETSC or the FA made a statement as to why it went wrong. It does seem a shambles, and one I think as UEFA generated rather than ETSC......They appear to be performing miracles with limited thanks. I'm now stuck in Germany so have no chance of any tickets, but it is what it is. Would have been first tournament since retirement so travel at leisure......I wish

The fa say that uefa left the ticket portal open that’s how fans got tickets at 10:00.

In some of the previous phases of ticket resales the non take up rate of ticket purchase to these members offered was up to 50%.
Looks like your trying to make excuses for the FA here Matthew. When was the non take up 50%, it’s been more like 10%, of the approximately 3000 there was about 300 left after the first ballot, after the second about 30 were left, even less for the Scotland game. The FA did say that they were issuing more access codes than tickets but if they had said we’re issuing 513 codes for 131 tickets then at least the lucky ones would have known they still only had a small chance of getting a ticket and unfortunately end up unlucky with the rest of us who didn’t even get into the 513.

See the second post in this thread, again, below Paddy.

Matches had cats approaching 50% not taken up for the higher cats.

Even the Scots match was well over the 10% non take up you're citing for the cheapest tickets.

If you need further proof search for when these calcs were also done after the first phase too.

    It was a similar story.

Nail on the head there Jason. They could have called the first 131 and sorted it directly rather than worrying that they wouldn't sell out. As long as UEFA get their 2500 Covid free hangers on access to europe when no one else can all is well in the world !!

blogs: Sue Smith: England’s forward focus can rattle Uruguay

Before every tournament most people are guilty of thinking a bit higher of England than they probably should - me included, I thought we would beat Italy 2-0! But despite the result I think we must take lots of positives from the performance. It was great to see the players actually go for it in the match and I thought we were quite entertaining. Raheem Sterling was great - every time he got the ball he looked dangerous...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Deny Luis Suarez space and England can prevail

How do you stop Luis Suarez? The key for England will be communication and getting tighter defensively than they did against Italy. There was an uncertainty and a vulnerability to England's defence, particularly down the left, on Saturday night...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Even Balotelli’s fiancée knows this band on the run

There is no better place to be as the leader of England’s band than at a World Cup in Brazil – but the one downside is we don’t know if we’ll be allowed to play inside the stadiums! This country has two loves, music and football...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Brazil-Spain jostles for position as football's new super-rivalry

Now might be a good time to remind everyone that Spain lost their first match in the last World Cup – and look what happened to them! And so, to take our minds off the result in Manaus, I decided to have a look at one of world football’s most...

blogs: Adrian Bevington: The connection between England’s players and fans at a World Cup cannot be overestimated

Even now I can recall it perfectly. Lucio stumbled and miscontrolled when heading towards his own goal, and Michael Owen seized the moment. I knew at that point, in Shizuoka in 2002, that Michael would score. And I have to confess that at that moment I really did think we are going to win the World Cup. It is an emotion that takes over you, and although it didn’t turn out to be correct, one of the great pleasures...
