EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

A Message to our Fans

A Message to our Fans

Our England senior men’s team will today begin their EURO 2020 campaign at our home, Wembley Stadium.

Major tournaments don’t come around often and when they do, it’s an opportunity to unite friends, families and the country. This collective support is what spurs our team on during challenging moments and it gives them the best chance of succeeding.

As the team has reiterated many times, they will collectively take the knee ahead of their fixtures during the tournament.

They are doing this as a mechanism of peacefully protesting against discrimination, injustice, and inequality. This is personally important to the players and the values the team collectively represents.

This gesture of unity and fighting against inequality can be traced back as far as the 18th century. It is not new, and English football has made it very clear that it does not view this as being aligned to a political organisation or ideology. There can be no doubt as to why the players are taking the knee and what it represents in a footballing context.

We encourage those who oppose these values to reflect on the message you are sending to the players you are supporting.

Please respect their wishes and remember that we should all be united in the fight to tackle discrimination. Together.

If you or any of your friends or family do see, hear or experience any behaviour you feel to be inappropriate, anti-social, abusive, racist, homophobic or discriminatory whilst at the game, just know that we are here to listen and to support you in any way we can.  All you need to do to report any incident like this is drop us an email to englandsupportersclub@thefa.com and a member of the team will talk you through what can happen next.

I am as a loyal fan never inappropriate, anti-social, abusive, racist, homophobic or discriminatory.
But I will not support your kneeling campaign it is linked with the BLM political party which I do not support.
Like many of the fans who would stand up to racism like myself will continue to boo this action.
It’s a real shame as this is causing serious division amongst fans and will effect the team’s performances.
Why won’t you take on board that kneeling and raising fists will not help the kick racism out of football campaign .

    Dear Team England,

When the Premier League/FA first introduced taking the knee, BLM was being advertised on shirts, across stadium seats and on digital advertising boards. If you really want to distance yourselves from this political movement then you need to change the gesture of taking the knee as this will now always be associated with this divisive political movement.

I myself are against this gesture that you are so determined to carry on with so I will boo when the players take the knee but when the team get to their feet I will be chanting in support of the kick it out campaign.

"Kick it out, Kick it out, kick it out'
