EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Transfer of Ticket due being unable to attend

As Lead operator I applied and received tickets for the three group games. I have transferred the tickets to my colleagues and kept a ticket for each game as the remaining ticket is not transferrable.

Unfortunately one our colleagues is unable to attend on Sunday so does anyone know if he can then transfer to a fiend or family who has an Eufa ID or England Fan membership.

I have looked at my mobile app but naturally cannot transfer again but assume he can transfer to someone who is registered with a recognised e-mail address

    can1
    /kan,kən/
    verb
            1.  be able to
            2.  be permitted to

Under the ticketing terms and conditions, you are not permitted to transfer the ticket to anyone other than a guest named on your original application.

7.1. Except as expressly permitted in Articles 7.2 and 7.3, any resale, transfer of Ticket(s), offer or advertisement of Ticket(s) for resale or transfer, whether for free or for consideration, is strictly prohibited.

7.2. The Successful Applicant shall be permitted to: a. transfer Tickets to his/her Guest(s) (the details of whom were provided in the Application Form) provided that (jointly):

This mobile phone ticketing system has been trialled at a number of events including the Nations League finals in Portugal in 2019. Although the system has the capability to block unauthorised transfers, these capabilities have so far never been implemented and ticket holders in Portugal were able to freely transfer their tickets to anyone. Whether or not this will be the case for Euro 2020 can only be discovered by trying it.

The penalty for being caught transferring a ticket contrary to the T&Cs is here.

7.7. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions, any Applicable Laws and/or of any Regulations’ clauses shall entitle UEFA Events SA to cancel and invalidate the Ticket and any other Tickets that have been purchased by the Successful Applicant for the same or any other UEFA EURO 2020™ Match with no right to a refund.

If your colleague is unable to attend for medical reasons then there is a 'get out' :

7.3. In the event that a Ticket Holder (which, for the avoidance of doubt, includes the Successful Applicant and any Guest(s)) is unable to attend the relevant Match for medical reasons (including but not limited to medical reasons in the context of COVID-19), the Successful Applicant shall not be entitled to a refund in respect of such Ticket but shall be entitled to transfer such Ticket to a friend or family member (who shall in turn become the Guest for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions), provided that such transfer is carried out in compliance with, and subject to, Articles 7.1 and 7.2 and that the personal details of such individual are provided in accordance with the procedure notified to the Successful Applicant by UEFA.

E-mail UEFA as you are lead booker. Have all the information to hand. Names, passport numbers DoB, email address etc
    so you're not wasting time.
Explain the situation honestly, there may be additional ways of transferring tickets. I think it's down to the discretion of UEFA, they know all the clauses and are genuine in letting you know if your reason falls within their boundaries.
It's the only way to know for definite.

    Afternoon All

Thank you for all the advice, we have managed to transfer over the ticket to a friend who missed out in the ballots.

For future transfer s and information, the replies from Uefa were kind of generic and I have received just as good information on here.
My colleague transferred over to someone who is an England member and also registered with Uefa so his name and e mail is recognised. It does say you can transfer to family and friends but assume they must be registered with Uefa.
I was unable to transfer a second time and it will not let you transfer the last ticket as you must keep one for yourself.

We some of the lucky ones tomorrow

The replies from UEFA are generic, you've contacted them and they've allowed transfer. I don't think you'd have been able to transfer them without their permission. There is a way of assigning lead booker. Contact uefa again. Sorry, I won't give details how to do it, this is an open forum and can be viewed by anyone and would not like to give too much info to money makers taking advantage.
Glad you've been able to transfer at least one ticket to a genuine fan.

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
