Now on general sale via UEFA portal. 145 for Cat 1 restricted. How bad must a CAT 1 be it's restricted view?

I had tickets for all group games, then cancelled by UEFA, missed out on all subsequent ballots and like you am surprised to find Uefa then send a general sale email advising there are tickets left. I get through to the payment section only to be denied the purchase. UEFA are every bit as bad as the ESL. I expect we'll get this for each game now - with a lucky few general sale fans able to get tickets ahead of ESTC members

My friend got very lucky. We applied for all group games and knockouts. Previously and had tickets to all. I was successful only for a category 2 ticket up in the gods for Croatia.

He has just purchased one of 150 odd tickets but category one. We are seated apart and wish to know if there’s anyway we can do swaps with people that may want a cheaper category or vice versa. I doubt this is allowed because tickets are non transferable. To clarify, I’m not looking to sell on any tickets whatsoever, but if Team England could clarify if people sat on their own are somehow able to be together at this late stage with separate single tickets it would be greatly appreciated.

With only 11 CAPS I can only imagine how lucky he has got, I was reading numbers of 8000 looking for tickets for this game through the FA, so we feel very fortunate.

Looking at the cricket today makes you wonder why not more fans could not have been accommodated. There's practically no spaces at all between anyone at Edgbaston.

I knew Uefa would do this. Talk about incompetent. Oh we "will give you 24 hours notice before priority sale". Totally ignore that and email eveybody when most people are at work and let's put them straight on sale. They really dont care. I've emailed them but they will just cut and paste like they always do. Agreed. I was late to the party and despite constantly refreshing and seeing them, they were instantly gone.

    In reply to Steve Pardoe:

Steve - did you originally have a Croatia ticket from the Uefa ballot (not the England travel club) ? And if it was from Uefa did you only lose it when they did the ballot in May ? I may be wrong , but Im guessing the only people , me included, who can see the game on the list are ones who lost in the Uefa ballot in May.

Just so annoyed, but hardly suprised that Uefa just put the tickets on line with no notice.
This is still on their website " Previous ticket buyers who had their tickets cancelled and refunded will receive priority information relating to future ticket sales. Impacted ticket buyers will be sent information via email 24 hours before any priority window with details of the ticket purchase process. "

I had a ticket originally from ESTC, and was able to get a Croatia ticket this morning, so it isn’t just UEFA ticket holders

I logged in using the account I had tickets to the Croatia game that were lost and can see the match but its sold out. When I login using the other account where I had applied through UEFA and had tickets to different matches I don't even see the game... so obviously they are able to limit access to it to people who previously had their tickets canceled for that match - just bad that it was an email with no notice that came as I was asleep!

blogs: Ian Fenwick: England emerging for bright future

I’m someone who is lucky enough work within the FA and the one thing I can say from my experience is that the future of English football is amazingly bright. Of course it’s not enough to always say that the things are going to be good in...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Belo Horizonte a fair setting for England’s new beginnings

Last time the World Cup came to Brazil, England went to the city of Belo Horizonte to be humiliated; it is the scene of that notorious 1-0 defeat to the United States. Perhaps humiliation is too strong a word this time. After all, England’s 2014 World Cup campaign has been marked by single goal defeats to former world champions, whereas back in 1950 the pride of the old First Division went down to what essentially...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: England can bounce back if they take a few risks

After the disappointment of the last two games, it’s vital that England take risks against Costa Rica. We don’t need two holding midfielders, Roy Hodgson has to start Adam Lallana over Danny Welbeck and we should switch to three men at the back. There was a clear opportunity against Uruguay and Italy to go to a back three – it would have allowed us to put some of our inventive players into more creative...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Let’s blow our own trumpet for once – come on England!

I’m used to blowing my own trumpet but not when it comes to predictions – I think we’ll get a result against Uruguay, but I thought we’d beat Italy 4-0! You’ve got to be optimistic as an England fan, sometimes it’s blind optimism but if you do what we do you have to believe. I’ve been following England with the band for 18 years now and it has always been the same. Roy Hodgson...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Uruguay may raise their game away from Fortaleza furnace

In the build-up to the World Cup a Uruguayan company launched an imaginative advertising campaign. Draped in a sky blue sheet, the colour of Uruguay’s shorts, the ghost of 1950 wandered around Rio frightening the locals – no one ever here needs reminding that the last time the World Cup was held in Brazil, Uruguay walked off with the trophy. So there was an element of Brazilian joy at Uruguay’s humiliating...
