Got Cat 2s, they appear to be middle tier, behind the goal.
Crazy thing is that we need to have entered by 5:30pm at the latest, for an 8pm kickoff.

How do we know if the tickets have been received? I was under the impression that we would receive an email five days before the match and then we had to open the app to place the tickets in there. I'm waiting for my tickets for the three group games. I'm not good with all this technology and so I'm wary about pressing a wrong button or doing the wrong thing.

I downloaded the app, put my details in and it the tickets popped up.
I did mine through the general public ballot though.

If you want to, you can wait for the UEFA email. It will contain a link enabling you to download the mobile phone tickets app. Alternatively, you can download it now from the app store. It's called UEFA Euro 2020 Mobile Tickets and it is orange.

Once the app is on your phone, register your personal details. You will get an email with a code number which must be keyed into the app to verify that it is really you. Every time you log in, you will be sent an email with a new code number.

If UEFA has issued the tickets, they will automatically appear in the app. If they have not yet issued the tickets then there will be a message in the app saying "There are no tickets associated with this email address". This message will no longer display when the tickets are subsequently sent.

I don't think there is any damage which you can do by "pressing a wrong button" but you can always come back to this forum for help.

Thank you for the advice and help David.
I did get an email from UEFA earlier this week headed "The EURO chapter has begun". There is a "Get the app" feature on this email but I think this is an app similar to the one last year, before Covid, providing film clips, photos etc from matches and there is no mention of it being a vehicle for mobile tickets.
I think I shall wait another day or two and if I haven't received the email I shall take steps to bring up the app.

Middle tier, as in, the club Wembley tier?

5:30? As someone who gets bored if I'm in the ground any time before the anthems that wait is going to be hell. I know I should comply but any idea of the implications of turning up later than the allotted time?

David there are 3 in our group.....do all 3 need this app...or just the lead booker?I realise the lead booker has to send the tkts to the other 2.....but tdo they have to have the app to receive them? May be a stupid question for our younger members...but I find it all....an altogether awful system.

    In reply to Stephen Holmes:

I'm going to assume that the app works the way it did in Portugal. (It was slightly different for the Montenegro match, which was a test event for the app.)

If you're the lead booker then all of the tickets will be sent to your phone. You then have 2 choices.

#1 You can transfer two of the tickets to the phones of the other two members in your group. They will need to download the app and register on it in order to receive the transfers.

#2 You can keep all three tickets on your phone. The downside is that you will have to pass the phone between the three of you in order to get through the turnstile. But, if one of your party does not have a compatible smart phone then this will be the only option.

I'll try to find the instructions which were issued for Portugal in 2019 and post them a bit later.

blogs: Ian Fenwick: England emerging for bright future

I’m someone who is lucky enough work within the FA and the one thing I can say from my experience is that the future of English football is amazingly bright. Of course it’s not enough to always say that the things are going to be good in...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Belo Horizonte a fair setting for England’s new beginnings

Last time the World Cup came to Brazil, England went to the city of Belo Horizonte to be humiliated; it is the scene of that notorious 1-0 defeat to the United States. Perhaps humiliation is too strong a word this time. After all, England’s 2014 World Cup campaign has been marked by single goal defeats to former world champions, whereas back in 1950 the pride of the old First Division went down to what essentially...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: England can bounce back if they take a few risks

After the disappointment of the last two games, it’s vital that England take risks against Costa Rica. We don’t need two holding midfielders, Roy Hodgson has to start Adam Lallana over Danny Welbeck and we should switch to three men at the back. There was a clear opportunity against Uruguay and Italy to go to a back three – it would have allowed us to put some of our inventive players into more creative...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Let’s blow our own trumpet for once – come on England!

I’m used to blowing my own trumpet but not when it comes to predictions – I think we’ll get a result against Uruguay, but I thought we’d beat Italy 4-0! You’ve got to be optimistic as an England fan, sometimes it’s blind optimism but if you do what we do you have to believe. I’ve been following England with the band for 18 years now and it has always been the same. Roy Hodgson...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Uruguay may raise their game away from Fortaleza furnace

In the build-up to the World Cup a Uruguayan company launched an imaginative advertising campaign. Draped in a sky blue sheet, the colour of Uruguay’s shorts, the ghost of 1950 wandered around Rio frightening the locals – no one ever here needs reminding that the last time the World Cup was held in Brazil, Uruguay walked off with the trophy. So there was an element of Brazilian joy at Uruguay’s humiliating...
