EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Last 16 Uefa ballot

Just wonder if anybody who had a ticket for the knockout game in Dublin via the original Uefa ballot, has heard when the sale for Wembley is happening?   Uefa said all ballots were supposed to have happened by the 24th May, but it all seems quiet on this one.  I didnt have a ticket by the way, but just clinging to any hope of getting one having lost both my Group tickets in the Uefa re-ballot.

Dublins capacity was 51,000 which should mean about 25,000 went to the original Uefa general sale (based on the approx 50% allocation).  IF Wembley is still at the pathetic 25% capacity for this game, then that means about 10,000 tickets for General Sale.  So it depends how many still want to go.  I guess many who live in Ireland may not choose not to go now, but anybody from England has got a real Brucie bonus! From what Ive read, Uefa have said those who originally had tickets and kept them, will be given a code to give them priority access somehow, but then it uses the phrase 'first come first served'.

The UEFA website says that the sale of tickets for the rearranged matches in London, St Petersburg and Seville will happen in May, after all of the refunds have been processed. It looks like they can't have finished the refunds yet.

The website also confirms that priority in the ticket sales will be given to those who had tickets to the original matches in Dublin and Bilbao but it doesn't say exactly how. You're probably right, Peter, that most Irish residents might not be inclined to travel to London for the R16 to watch a couple of teams neither of which will be Ireland.

When the ticket sales start, it will be fastest finger first. Be prepared to be utterly frustrated and infuriated by the process. You will be waiting for ages in a queue while a little man walks across the screen with the speed of a geriatric tortoise dragging an anvil. When he gets to the other end and you are admitted to the portal, don't be surprised if there are no tickets left.

    In reply to David Lilley:

Hi David. I think its a real shame Uefa have decided to go down this route . Fair play when they did the original allocation it was via a ballot, which technically gave everybody more of a chance. As you say it will be a mad dash , and 5 minutes later no doubt all tickets will be gone. Hopefully it will be spelled out before hand that these will be etickets and arent transferable, to try and stop tickets being on ebay within 1 minute of the ticket being bought.

The gamble will also be buying a ticket for a game that may not even involve England. How many would want to spend £150+ plus travel expenses to watch a non-England game?
