EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Group tickets now individual?

I initially applied for tickets in a group with my brother in law.

I was successful in today’s ballot for the Scotland game and he was successful for the Croatia game.

I didn’t even realise they’d scrapped the group applications in the ballot.

Has anyone else got different tickets within their groups?

What a mess.

Yes that is how it worked. The ballot was run on an individual basis.

    In reply to Richard Wiggett:

I’ve got Cat 3 for Croatia and Cat 2 for Scotland and Czech, so I’m a bit undecided on what to do right now.

Part of going to tournament is the atmosphere, not sitting in a 90k stadium with only 22.5k there. Wembley isn’t a great when full most of the time, let alone with only 25% all spread out.

At €125 a ticket for the Cat 2 games, I’m starting to think watching in the pub or at home is the better option.

Just spoke to my mate and he got Cat 2 for Croatia, so I’d be sat on my own for that match if we go!

Looking more likely that my tickets will be up for grabs.

Feel like this too. Have been to games on my own but this all feels a bit pointless. Waited over a year for this tournament and can’t be arsed going now.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Youth or experience for second Miami test?

The game against Honduras tonight is the final chance for a player to stake their claim for that World Cup opener against Italy next Saturday, and warm-up matches are key - just look at Michael Owen at France 98. The build-up to this tournament and that one 16 years ago is similar in many ways because there was a lot of experience in that England squad that I played in, and Michael really burst onto the scene. It was...

blogs: David Stone: Marvellous Miami is just like I pictured it

I've been to the US a few times before, but Miami really lives up to every cultural stereotype you can think of. It's big, bright and brash, not to mention full of hordes of identically-dressed, beautiful people. I’ve been to watch the Miami Marlins, the city's baseball team, in a local derby against the Tampa Bay Rays. While the stadium itself was two-thirds empty, the dozen or so England fans there...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Honduras and Professor Suarez lie in wait for Hodgson's hopefuls

The fitness of the Uruguay striker permitting, England have a date with Luis Suarez on 19 June. First, though, comes an encounter with his namesake on Saturday. Honduras are coached by Luis Fernando Suarez – a man who England fans have cause to...

blogs: Sue Smith: Striking a balance is key during a World Cup

Building up to a major international tournament is strange because you’ve spent so long preparing and then all of a sudden you’re playing in a World Cup – you don’t even think about it you just do your job. I would like to think...

blogs: Marios Papaloizou: Football’s friendly fire is my favourite time of year

Somewhere in-between the nerve-racking qualifying campaigns and the unbearable tension that surrounds a major tournament there occasionally lies a perfect storm of happy sentiment that surrounds the England team. Whether it's Peter Crouch's robot...
