EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Thought it was 22,000 a game - Yet EFC only get 3,000?

3,086 and 2,968 for each first two games in a ground of 22,000? Is this still the 10% rule, even when away fans, sponsors and Hospitality are still under an element of Lockdown??

And also thought Czech game was a full house after June 21st, so why only 2,855 allocation and not 9,000?

Trying to look at everyone's point of view... I had tickets for every group stage match and the email I got an hour ago leaves me with absolutely nothing, so so disappointed. Never been to a Euro's or World Cup so the wait continues... Really hurting right now.

Absolute joke. I've had all 3 group games, plus Follow-England Semi and Final. Been refunded for all the tickets, and now had an email with the ballot results to say I've been unsuccessful for the 3 group games.

The numbers don't add up at all. If you say Wembley at 25% is 20,000 tickets, then how the hell do I not qualify for any of the 3 games?!

The only explanation here is that when you take the 20,000 tickets, (like you say) sponsors and hospitality are taking the vast majority of it.

Absolute joke from the FA.... YET AGAIN. Whilst I'm writing this fans are protesting outside Old Trafford at the lake of respect shown towards fans from corporations, and here yet another example of the FA being a part of the problem.

Sponsorships, Money and Greed before Fans... AGAIN.

The original allocation in 2020 was that ESTC got just under 12,000 tickets in a 90,000 stadium. We're now getting 3,000 tickets in a 22,500 stadium. It's a pro rata reduction.

The Road Map which the government has set out is only the route out of lockdown. It is not the route out of all coronavirus related restrictions. Step 4 of the Road Map lifts all legal limits on private gatherings. But large outdoor events still require government consent. The government has decreed that Wembley matches at Euro 2020 will have a 25% capacity except for the semi-finals and final, which are allowed 50%. I hope that the FA is lobbying the government for this to be increased but neither the FA nor UEFA set the stadium crowd limits.

Same. Never done a euros or world cup and had tickets for all group games. On too of that I'm an NHS worker who has worked all pandemic, got Covid, had 2 vaccines, test myself twice a week, have done everything to protect my patients and so I feel very much like what's the point? All I've done is work work work for no real reward and now I've had my tickets taken off me because we're being cautious rather than getting things open.
Life goes on but it very much stings. Least the atmosphere will be terrible now with 3k fans though. Will try head to Germany for the Euros or USA for the World Cup.

Bret, you have been to three England games, all at home, since 2016 so what did you expect. I had to cash in all my tickets due to travel restrictions. Keep the faith build up caps for future tournaments... at 66 I am now looking at a couple more then sacking it .....probably after USA.....I wonder if there would have been all this angst if this Tournament would have been all 'overseas' and not ant Wembley

    In reply to Michael Palfrey:

Considering I had all tickets to group games that's what I expected... Not to have them taken away for nonsensical covid rules and UEFA giving priority to non-fans. 3000 is a joke. Point is we had tickets and now have none. Dont need your patronising advice on what to do thanks.

Bret, you need to calm down.. there was nothing patronising about what Michael said. You honestly cant have expected to get all three games with only 4 caps!
Uefa looking after hospitality and corporate is nothing new. The allocations for tournaments are always low for actual fans. That's just the way it goes sadly. Germany 2024 will be heavily oversubscribed so as Michael says get the home games in as much as you can.

The thing with the Czech game is that it is only a day after the possible lifting of restrictions. As it’s so close, they couldn’t really risk allowing a full house - could you imagine if they confirmed 90k and then on 14th June announced that restrictions had to be prolonged? Resulting in 70k tickets getting cancelled with a week’s notice?

That’s why the Czech game is being played to the same capacity as the Croatia and Scotland games

Absolutely zero patronisation in the responses so far.

People seem to be trying to help.

Realise it's emotive but if you're coming on here asking for advice you need to work with facts rather than name calling.

Brett, I am also NHS, but perhaps unlike yourself, I had an ESTC membership with 28 caps. I'm not a "top capper" but I attended 13 games during the qualifying period, plus seven unrewarded tournament games in Russia and France and Portugal. Travelled away to Spain, Germany, Protugal, Russia, Scotland. Happily bagged all tickets for Euro 2020 group and KO rounds, follow-my-team to the final. And what did we get in the ballot ? One ticket for England v Croatia.
I have friends with more caps who got nothing. Let's face it, the ballot was a lottery.
Michael Palfrey is correct. Keep the faith and build up caps for the future. And remember, this is just the group stages. We all hope / expect that the allocation will be higher for the later rounds and fingers crossed, we'll all be there to witness it come home.

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
