EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Successful refund not received

Have seen a couple of other CL bis but couldn’t add.

Did anyone else get the successful refund from UEFA, but hasn’t received money due to credit card changing/account being closed.

I know a few people have received successfully been returned but hasn't been on to bank who have now received the email I got and will take my case up because it's fraudulent to say it's been successfully done when it's not

When you close a credit card account, it remains dormant for a period of time so that it can receive refunds and charge back payments. Phone the credit card company and ask them whether they have received a refund from UEFA. If so, you can arrange with them to have the balance transferred to your bank account.

If the credit card company has not received the refund then contact UEFA. UEFA have a process whereby you enter your bank details on the 'profile' page in your UEFA ticketing account and then they transfer the refund directly to your bank. But they will only do this if the refund to your credit card has failed.

Also, be aware that if you were included on someone else's ticket application then the refund would go to the lead applicant. You would have to sort out with them getting your ticket money back.

Any idea how you can see which credit card you used? Doesn’t say on my ticket confirmation

I cancelled my credit card in October last year and have just got an email to say that I have a new credit balance. Phoned them and they are transfering the money to my bank account

I've searched for this before and I can't find the credit card details anywhere on my UEFA personal profile page.

However, as an experiment, I have just logged in to a credit card account of mine which was closed last July. The log in worked and I was able to see statements going back to December 2019, before the payment to UEFA for tickets through the FA official allocation.

So, if you log in to each of your credit card accounts in turn, including any closed accounts, you should find the payment in one of them.

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
