EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Will the Government have a re think on attendances for Wembley Games?

Having read the article below, I do wonder if the Government will allow more fans at Wembley, but still socially distanced?

"Liverpool is holding the first pilot of a live music event, with an audience of 3,000 people and no social distancing. Clubbers will, however, need a negative Covid test result before they are allowed into the two-day event".

I think there will be more fans in for the rd of 16 game and maybe the Czech game.
Problem is the government can’t actually commit to anything until June the 14th because of the roadmap

But they could change things if they wanted to like in Scotland and Wales.

Maybe the FA could do preliminary 50% ballots for the last group game onwards in preparation for rules being relaxed on the 21st of June so that people would know as soon as the government makes its announcements on the relaxation of restrictions.
Also the government has said all restrictions could stop on the 21st so why not do a 100% ballot just in case

Surely it would be easier doing it now and having things in place and everyone knowing where they stand rather than having a mad rush in the few days prior to the games

    Just a thought

    Just to add ,

Couldn’t it be done that those in the 20% could all be be given a maximum of 1 tkt and the same with those in the 10% .
That way more fans get a chance to see at least one game ?

Not sure why they'd change the rules of the membership Gra?

I mean if they do the 'share tickets out for the 20%' what would be the argument against doing likewise with the 70%?

Let's all hope the allocations increase and it becomes a moot point anyway.

Same again put those 70%ers who didn’t get a tkt into the 20 and 10% ballot , once you have a ticket you come out of the second game ballot and so on
Won’t happen I know but it seems fairer than one person getting all 3 group games

I see that today they have announced that you can have unlimited numbers at funerals from May 17, which has been brought forward from June 21, so they can change things if they want to.

As someone pointed out weeks (maybe months) ago we have a popularist Government and you'd definitely not rule out Boris 'listening to new science' and numbers in the ground increasing dramatically.

Also giving Sadiq something to take credit for and the UEFA CFO being very, very happy.

It'll also mean less unhappy ESTC fans, so less grief for the ESTC team.

However the longer it's left the (possible?) more work for them.

I've got no problems at all waiting a little longer for the UEFA data, especially if it means more ESTC members in the ground.

    Let's hope so.

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Youth or experience for second Miami test?

The game against Honduras tonight is the final chance for a player to stake their claim for that World Cup opener against Italy next Saturday, and warm-up matches are key - just look at Michael Owen at France 98. The build-up to this tournament and that one 16 years ago is similar in many ways because there was a lot of experience in that England squad that I played in, and Michael really burst onto the scene. It was...

blogs: David Stone: Marvellous Miami is just like I pictured it

I've been to the US a few times before, but Miami really lives up to every cultural stereotype you can think of. It's big, bright and brash, not to mention full of hordes of identically-dressed, beautiful people. I’ve been to watch the Miami Marlins, the city's baseball team, in a local derby against the Tampa Bay Rays. While the stadium itself was two-thirds empty, the dozen or so England fans there...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Honduras and Professor Suarez lie in wait for Hodgson's hopefuls

The fitness of the Uruguay striker permitting, England have a date with Luis Suarez on 19 June. First, though, comes an encounter with his namesake on Saturday. Honduras are coached by Luis Fernando Suarez – a man who England fans have cause to...
