EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Souvenir Tickets

As all tickets through ESTC were going to be delivered by smart phone app, the spring 2020 application process included the option to request souvenir paper tickets which would be delivered to people's registered address after the tournament.

As we are now having all of our tickets cancelled and refunded, any request for souvenir tickets will also be cancelled and the €15 cost will be included in the refund. This is confirmed in the FA News Bulletin. So, when those members who get tickets in the reduced allocation pay for their tickets, will there be an option to request souvenir tickets again ?

For the Nations League in 2019, UEFA offered the option to request souvenir tickets and many England fans planned to take up this option. The souvenir tickets had to be requested at the time of the ticket application but we weren't told this until after applications closed and I'm pretty sure that this option never appeared on the application page of the ticket website. When people pointed out to UEFA that the option had not been on the web page they were told that the orders couldn't subsequently be changed to include this option.

The 2019 experience makes me suppose that we will not have the option to request souvenir tickets under the proposed system for the reduced ticket allocation. This would be a pity as many ESTC members save their tickets in collections. Imagine England getting to the final and we don't have a paper ticket for the collection.

I like to keep my paper tickets as well David. It may be worth sending uefa an email. Sometimes you get the impression that the questioned asked they havent even thought about, so it can be worth it as well. Ive emailed them a couple of times this year, and they can take a few days to reply, but they do in the end.

    Great question David.

I definitely would like physical tickets for the group matches never mind the final.

A question to hopefully add for the ESTC team.

Ive just submitted a question using the link below and PAPER TICKETS as the 'My request concerns'. I'd suggest others do likewise.

Those Nations League paper tickets were going for close to £100 after the matches on eBay.

Yep - multiple amounts of what their entry face value was!

Just announced that souvenir tickets are available during the application process as they were first time around. See latest link on ESTC website. Step 7 or 8, can’t remember which.

Yeah just spotted this. It’s down as 15 Euros, not sure if that’s per game or for all 3. If it’s per game uefa can jog on.

On the original application form in 2020 the €15 got you souvenir tickets for every match on your application (provided that we qualified for that match). If there were 4 members on your application and you all got a ticket for all 7 possible matches then that would be 28 souvenir tickets for €15 but it was still €15 if you only had 1 ticket on your application.

So, €15 this time around will certainly get you a souvenir ticket for all the group matches for which you were successful in the recent ballots. What's not so obvious is whether you have to apply again and pay again if we qualify for a knock out round and you get a ticket in that ballot. The original UEFA FAQs said that the €15 was per order but it's not our fault that the ticketing balloting and purchasing process has been split up so that group matches and each knock out round become separate orders. Maybe UEFA could be persuaded to link orders so that a request for souvenir tickets now will carry over to the knock out rounds without a fresh request and another €15.

Awesome cheers David. As I wasn’t the lead Booker last time I didn’t go through this and back in 2016 this wasn’t an issue.
Good point about the later rounds though as we will be buying each game separately rafter the groups that could rack up to 75 Euros for the whole tournament. Would like to think they’ve got a plan on this though.

blogs: Sue Smith: England’s forward focus can rattle Uruguay

Before every tournament most people are guilty of thinking a bit higher of England than they probably should - me included, I thought we would beat Italy 2-0! But despite the result I think we must take lots of positives from the performance. It was great to see the players actually go for it in the match and I thought we were quite entertaining. Raheem Sterling was great - every time he got the ball he looked dangerous...

blogs: Adrian Bevington: The connection between England’s players and fans at a World Cup cannot be overestimated

Even now I can recall it perfectly. Lucio stumbled and miscontrolled when heading towards his own goal, and Michael Owen seized the moment. I knew at that point, in Shizuoka in 2002, that Michael would score. And I have to confess that at that moment I really did think we are going to win the World Cup. It is an emotion that takes over you, and although it didn’t turn out to be correct, one of the great pleasures...
