EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Last 16 and quarter final

I am taking a gamble and not cancelling my tickets in the hope that these venues pull out and the games are switched to Wembley. Does anyone else have the same idea. I don't want to leave the country so I wont travel but these games might be played here. What  do other members think???

James, Rome as a host isnt pulling out of Euro2020 and is committed to having at least 25% in the Stadio Olímpico. So with that I cannot see why Wembley would be awarded the quarter final.
The only quarter final venue in doubt currently is the Munich one which we could actually play at if we finished 3rd in our group. Finishing 3rd is without doubt logistically nightmare!

Thanks for your reply. Do you think its a wise thing to travel to Rome just on a 1 day trip for the game if we make it or are quarentine rules gonna screw things up. What would most people do? Are we definately playing in Rome?

I'm totally confused with all of this Mate. I'm not too keen to travel. I might end up stuck somwhere. Do you think most people have asked for a refund?

Yeah holding onto my tickets in the hope travel situations change or games are moved. Looks like Italy will be happening whatever and both Copenhagen and St Petersburg were guaranteeing decent numbers so of our most likely potential venues only the Dublin Round of 16 is likely to be shifted to Wembley.
For me the risk was manageable but get why others would cancel too.

Only if we win the group then win the last 16 game.

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
