Follow UEFA's Update - What do Travel Club members need to know right now?

England Supporters Travel Club members who have tickets to Euro 2020 will have received an email from UEFA containing new information about the tournament.

    So nothing we don't already know then. You guys need to be working on getting as many fans in as possible for the 3rd group game and all games after as from June 21 we should be as 'close to normality as possible'. Restrictions on nightclubs and all large events should be lifted, so there isn't a reason to have 22000 fans still at the Czech game on the 22nd June.

    Couldn't agree more. Appreciate the ESTC team will be working hard to deal with this situation, but if after 21st June nightclubs are open (so pubs will be crowded as they normally are for major tournaments) and Wembley is 75% empty, I would much prefer the atmosphere watching in a pub like box park, etc. This seems like a silly situation to be in, I don't get how the 25% was agreed after 21st June.

    More clarity on the possibility of increasing the capacity of the Czech Republic game (and any further games) is needed. I hope the 25% is a minimum rather than a set amount, but it sounds pretty set at the moment.

    As others have pointed out, it seems that the FA's report to UEFA only guarantees 25% crowds for all Wembley matches. England is scheduled to enter Step 4 of the coronavirus crisis Road Map on 21st June and this step is supposed to remove all legal restrictions on gatherings. However, this date is provisional and can be deferred if the government's 4 tests for moving to the next Step have not been met. This must be the reason for the FA's cautious approach - that the start date of Step 4 is not guaranteed. The implication is that, if and when we do move to Step 4, then the 25% figure can and will be increased for later matches.

    The whole point of limiting crowd sizes is to enable social distancing within the stadium. So we can infer that the 75% reduction in crowd size will be evenly distributed over the whole stadium. As a working assumption, we should therefore assume that the ESTC allocation of tickets will also be reduced to 25%. This might not be the case. UEFA might give us favourable treatment and, I'm sure that Team England will lobby for this, but we can't assume it.

    As far as the ballots are concerned, these are going to be conducted by the FA according to the ESTC rules. Only those holding a ticket for a match will be eligible for the ballot for that match. Surely, no one is going to be moved to a different ticket category. UEFA are not going to want to give partial refunds for a downgrade nor collect supplementary payments for an upgrade. So, there will need to be separate ballots for each match and each ticket category within that match. I imagine that each mini-ballot will be on the 70/20/10 rule applied only to members in the relevant ticket category and based on the December 2020 caps table. At this point, it is worth looking at what the original category splits were, remembering that these figures are likely to be reduced to 25%.

    There will not be a ballot before 23rd April at the earliest because ticket holders have until 22nd April to surrender their tickets for a refund. But I can't imagine that the FA is in any great rush. For the later Wembley matches, the FA might want to wait until a decision can be made about increasing the 25% crowd size before conducting their ballots. The alternative would be to hold initial ballots based on a 25% figure and then further ballots later on when a higher crowd size is confirmed. As tickets will be delivered electronically to mobile phones and as there is no ticket money to collect, it is logistically possible for the ballots to take place very close to the tournament. This would not be a great inconvenience to UK based members but would be a real headache for the overseas ESTC members who have travel and accommodation to arrange.

    If we are sticking with 25% for the czech game I will cancel my ticket. If there is a possibility that this will rise at short notice I will keep it. Where can we find this information out?

    if theres no rush for the money just hang on to it if it gets unlucky in the ballot you will get a full refund anyway,the only games what are really a headache are the oversea games with quarintine rules if you return you ticket i very much you will get a refund straight away will probably take EUFA until end of may of earliest

    I don't understand the bit about no exemption for travelling fans. Presumably this would mean that if the current "no travel" rule still applies from England then no one will be allowed to any of the away matches, As I am based overseas, yes there might be a loophole for me, but it still isn't explicit.

    And I am pessimistic about Boris and his doom-mongers not then moving the goalposts right out of Wembley altogether (probably to Lords or Twickenham) and demanding fans have vaccine certificates or similar.

    Yes, David it is a bit of a headache, but I have a flight back anyway so still hopeful

    Surely every member should be guaranteed one of the 20,000 plus tickets?

    David....you seem more clued up than most of us ......so could you answer this question for me please.

    IF England qualify for the Dublin Rome route...or the other route...what happens to our tkts if the covid/government restrictions make travelling to the overseas games impossible or unrealistic re quarantine etc

    Would we lose our tkt money for those games....or would we qualify for a refund at the last minute?

    it says on the app please bear in mind each countrys border requirements regarding negative tests,quarintine i interpret that as if you have to quarantine but then dont go then EUFA will just say you knew the requirements before travel tuff luck

    This is an extract from the UEFA refund policy

    Save as set out below, tickets cannot be cancelled by the Applicant (or Successful Applicant, as applicable) for any reason whatsoever (including where the Applicant (or Successful Applicant, as applicable) or their Guest(s) is unable, or opts not, to attend the Match), and any refund request in such circumstances will be automatically rejected. Refunds in relation to Tickets shall only be made in the circumstances, and in the manner, described below.

    The "circumstances described below" do not include being unable to get to the match because of travel restrictions or quarantine / self-isolation requirements. So, if that happens then you don't get a refund.

    Thats more or less what I thought...if however you can't travel because our Government or the Government of the country you need to get to forbid you to travel what then?

    Plus if UEFA have taken your money for every game to the final ....but to get to them is impossible due to quarantine etc would your travel insurance or even your credit card if you used one to book...pay out?
