EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Euro 2021 Tickets - stick or twist?

I've just read UEFA's latest reminder that the final date for optional return of tickets is 22nd April. Things may be a bit clearer by then, but who knows what the situation will be in June and July? So we could find ourselves still holding valid tickets for a knock-out match somewhere like St Petersburg, but be barred from travelling there and lose a few hundred quid. Are others planning to return any tickets or just keep fingers crossed? Having already booked accommodation for Middlesborough, I guess I'll stick and hope.

    Stephen.

    Here's my viewpoint.

Have you contacted the ESTC team (who I maintain do a great job of distribution of tournament tickets) or the FSA (who do a great job of helping fans in trouble) to see if they can assist in the specific issue which is troubling you?

If you have could you let us all know the outcome?

That might be seen as you helping your fellow fans (like a lot of us on here try to do) and more constructive than logging on and complaining about these groups who seem to be as hamstrung about the totally fluid situation as us supporters are.

    Let us know mate...

Haven’t been able to make a decision on this. Logic would say cancel the 1/4 final but I’ve been waiting / planning this for so long that I’ve decided to keep hold and wait and see. Just a shame my R16 tix is 185 and 1/4 145. There is always the chance that the 1/4 in Rome goes ahead & you have already lost your 1/2 & final tickets in the ballot so don’t really need to be back in time for anything.

Just hope the FA don’t ballot on the basis of everybody getting a ticket & I end up with the 1/4 final!

No Matt....I am just one of many who even now have no clarity. People in power are paid large sums to run this clud...Eufa...and the FSA....they should be proactive not reactive.

Yeah did wonder if you were both going in which case risking at least £130 changes things a fair bit. We decided in the end to push the chips into the middle of the table and just see what happens on both.

Well, after not missing a game for a number of years and becoming a top capper, in order to get guaranteed tickets for tournaments. Got everything I wanted for Euro 2020 all the way to the final. Now retired and able to go where I want when I want, along comes covid to feck us all about. I have now cashed in all but Final. As I live in Germany travel is now all but impossible, but hopefully that will ease after 17th May. Germany is well behind the curve on covid jabs, and today as I was dithering about cashing in the Scotland ticket, I received notification of my appointment for covid jabs (I'm 66) and they made my mind up as my 2nd appointment is on the afternoon of the Scotland game......Oh hum life goes on. Here's hoping we can all travel again in September.

I wonder how many 'cancellation of the L16 cancellation' will be going through tonight on the back of this?

Thanks for that Carl. I must admit with Ryanair into Stansted, it's sometimes just as quick to get to Wembley from Germany as it is from 'up north'

Apparently the opportunity to uncancel cancelled R16 ticket extended to 26th April. Can anyone confirm this?

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
