I would imagine uefa will be giving money back not selling more tickets with the way things are going at the moment. Just hope I’m proven wrong

Normally, applications for tickets are organised into 2 windows of opportunity. These ticket application periods came and went ages ago and there were originally no plans to have a further sales window.

The current situation is that we do not know whether the tournament will be played behind closed doors, with limited crowds, or with full crowds. The general consensus amongst fans on this forum is that there will not be full crowds. The vaccination programme will be nowhere near complete by June. However, the UEFA website is saying that there will be a further sale of tickets in March. Bookmark this page.

Behind closed doors : All ticket holders will have their tickets cancelled and refunded.

With limited crowds : UEFA will have a problem over whose tickets to cancel and refund. My guess is that they would favour fans from the host country as this would eliminate any problems of crossing national borders if the virus is still around. But in some cases, e.g. England fans at Wembley, there would still have to be wholesale arbitrary ticket cancellations.

In this case, it would make no sense to sell any new tickets in March except to fans from Scotland and Hungary, whose teams qualified through the Nations League play-offs and who are host countries. I doubt whether the fans from North Macedonia or Slovakia would be so lucky.

With full crowds : When UEFA made the decision to postpone the tournament to 2021 they gave fans an opportunity to have their tickets cancelled and refunded. This was officially for people who knew they wouldn't be able to attend in 2021. In reality, the offer was taken up by people whose financial circumstances had just taken a nose dive and who needed the money for their living costs. If the tournament goes ahead before full crowds then these returned tickets will be put back on sale in March. There will also be a ticket sale to fans of all 4 teams which qualified through the Nations League play-offs.

England tickets which were originally distributed through the FA official allocation will probably be returned to the control of the FA. The FA have made it clear that any such tickets will only be made available to fans who were members of the England Supporters Travel Club in the 2018-2020 membership period.

Tickets returned from the general public sale will be available to anyone. But the ticket(s) you want might not necessarily be available and the sale will likely be online on a 'fastest finger first' basis.

I see that the message on the UEFA website has been changed. It no longer says that there will be a ticket sale in March. Instead, it says that more ticket information will be issued in March.

Just wonder if any of you guys have started booking trains yet ? Of course , the real chance is there wont be any fans , so anything I book right now must have the insurance of free cancellation. Hotels seem good for that, but Im wondering about trains , as I have to travel from Worcestershire to Wembley.

    In reply to Carl Padley:

The same and any games will be as, if and when. It will be more expensive, considering I've not spent anything last year, it's swings and roundabouts. As above I have serious doubts about Euro 2021 right now.

Several press websites have been quoting Uefa that they will make a decision on March 5th. I cant find this actual quote on the Uefa website, tho that doesnt mean it isnt true...

UEFA stated: "Each host city will discuss the scenarios jointly with UEFA, develop their plans accordingly in the coming weeks and a decision on which scenario will be applied individually in each city during the tournament will be taken on March 5, 2021. Each venue will discuss with UEFA whether they are able to hold matches at full capacity; between 100 per cent and 50 per cent of capacity; 33 per cent of capacity; or behind closed doors.."

blogs: Sue Smith: Never mind the heat, it’s the humidity that gets you

Everyone’s talking about the temperature and humidity in Manaus and of course it’s going to affect the players, but they will have gone through every method to make sure they are in the best possible condition to cope. I was reading that they were in saunas on their breaks and wearing jackets in training and that’s the same sort of things we tried to do in China at the 2007 World Cup. People talk...

blogs: David Stone: Roy's Q & A embraces the fans

Following Wednesday's match we spent the evening out with a load of Ecuador supporters in the Clevelander club on South Beach. Interestingly enough, every member of their group lived in the US and had flown into Miami because it was a chance to see Premier League players. I suspect this was the case with most of the Ecuadorean support, living up to the saying 'you've only come to see the England!' The...
