EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

Reimburse the money asap for the euros tickets

Just read that UEFA intends to keep the money and tickets till next year. Not an option in my book. Yes I would still love to go next year with the family all the way to the final with England  … but no idea whether I will have the funds available given the nightmare few months ahead. Big work worries as I'm sure there are for many of us.  They should reimburse now and review next year based on caps as before. we cannot make decisions now on such a lot of money.. we should be given the option to re-apply when we have got through the next few months and hopefully have some money left. Regardless of your view, best wishes to everyone getting through this mess

Whilst I may disagree with some of your posts I do know you are a long serving England fan and it somehow seems wrong that you may miss the Euro's because of a poxy virus, so here is a thought for the FA.

In a few months they will no doubt be asking for money for the next membership period and whilst I don't know how many will sign up I suggest it could be as many as 10,000. Why not use this money to buy the tickets for those of us who are in a similar position as you and hold them until nearer the tournament. If for any reason you can't finance next year then they can sell them onwards to other members of the club. Seems a win/win idea and gives more credance as to the benefits of joining ESTC

Just a thought and really feeling for you mate - for the record I am retired and not in need of this assistance so would not benefit from any such scheme.

    Good luck

I’d only want a refund if they keep the same allocations next year. I got very lucky with fans first tickets for semi and final. And while I know I prob won’t be using them lol I don’t think I’d get lucky again if another ballot was done. So hopefully they just keep the money and hold the tickets.

Spot on. I'm in same position. Paid for the tickets which got all way through to the final. Used a credit card as had regular income. Now with this virus my self employed work has completely dried up.
Positive work will continue once this virus pisses off. Refund now would be a massive help. Got in a group of 4 though and don't want to let then down if me cancelling means the other 3 miss out

Although I'm not looking for a refund I think the points Terry is making are very valid. Everyone is in a different position and I think giving a refund now and guaranteeing the tickets can be repurchased is a sensible and easy solution to a financial problem for some members.

I'm am sure more people would hold onto their tickets than people asking for a temporary refund. Let us also remember UEFA sitting on the money for another year is very lucrative and may influence their thinking and decision.

Also got to remember for those who puchased semi final and final tickets if england dont get there the refund for those tickets wont happen till at least next october and the price of a final ticket could easily get a family through a week in these tough times stay safe ladies and gents

In case anyone hasn't had the email yet, UEFA have issued some remarks about ticket refunds.

    https://support.tickets-euro2020.uefa.com/hc/en-us/sections/360003903979-TICKET-RETURN

They are opening a portal on their website in early May which will allow tickets to be surrendered for a refund. A big plus is that it is not surrender all tickets or keep all tickets. You will be able to surrender some and keep others.

    They are also saying

Our intention is, where possible, to ensure your existing tickets remain valid for the 2021 tournament. However, before we can make this a certainty, the 2021 match schedule needs to be finalised.

This is the clearest hint that some host cities have not yet committed to being available and willing to stage matches next year. Otherwise, why not just shift every match by 364 days ?

We've been very critical of UEFA over the years and with good reason but I think they've got this spot on.

Those who want to hold on to their guaranteed tickets can and those who want or need a refund will get one.

    Can't fault this approach.

Have you seen details on this? E.g.

Have they confirmed that person A in the group can cancel all their matches without the full group losing their tickets?

Or that person B will no longer be able to attend match 3 so can cancel this without affecting other tickets?

    This from the link above

If you or your guest(s) cannot attend some of the matches of the tournament in 2021, you will be able to partially return your tickets and receive a refund of the corresponding amount.
