EURO 2020

UEFA EURO 2020

TWO IMPORTANT UPDATES FOR MEMBERS

At present and in-line with current government advice, nothing has changed regarding the status of our games against Italy and Denmark later this month. If the situation changes, ticket buyers and ESTC members will be contacted via email and the website.

For the latest advice regarding the coronavirus, including travel and prevention information, please refer to the NHS's website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

EURO 2020 second ballot

We're aware of an issue with UEFA and the second ballot. For more information, please read the news story below: http://www.thefa.com/news/2020/mar/11/second-ballot-update

Can someone remind me what the original ballot rules were?
I mistakenly applied in general sale rather than through the travel portal in December and should have been included in this second members ballot. I have received no e-mail from UEFA today so I’m the dark as to what is going on. My group have 10-12 caps each

I appreciate the information. However people are still speculating as to how the Italy game can possibly go ahead? Saying this then cancelling close to the game date is even worse for supporters with travel and hotels booked.

    In reply to Robert Lewis-Brookes:

70% of available tickets to the applicants with the most caps : in this case, members on the waiting list with the most caps.

20% balloted to other members, but only if they have been to at least 4 home and 2 away games in the 2018-2020 campaign.

10% balloted to all members who were ineligible for or unsuccessful in the 70% allocation and 20% ballot.

If there were fewer members in the 20% ballot than tickets (because those who qualified for the 20% ballot were already in the 70% allocation) then the surplus tickets would be added to the 10% ballot.

No tickets for zero-cappers unless everyone with caps who applied had their ticket request fulfilled.

Preference for ticket category given to higher cappers. Members could indicate on the application form whether they were willing to be moved up or down by 1 category if their first choice was already fully allocated.

Everyone on the same application had to get the same category of ticket.

Every member considered separately on his own caps record.

Just had the below email from UEFA- looks like they're blaming The FA, certainly doesn't look like they were willing to acknowledge that we had applied in groups. Might be worth checking out.

    Dear Thomas,

    Thank you for your email.

The FA decided that the members could only purchase one ticket per match, this is not decided by UEFA.
The portal is down temporarily, it will be back up but we have no further details about this.

    Best regards,
    UEFA Ticketing Customer Service

blogs: Tim Vickery: A World Cup in every sense

Two World Cup Finals are being replayed in this week’s 2014 semi finals. The Germans seek revenge for their 2-0 defeat in 2002 when they meet Brazil – amazingly only the second time these giants have ever met in the tournament. And Holland were the closest – so far – a European team has ever come to winning the World Cup in South America when they hit the post with almost the last kick of normal...

blogs: Sue Smith: England can bounce back

There’s no doubt England can bounce back – the women’s team did it after the 2007 World Cup by going all the way in Euro 2009. Although we lost against Germany in the final of those Euros, there was a sense of achievement and progress...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Cool-hand Luke can handle price-tag

Having a hefty price tag can weight heavy on your shoulders – it certainly did for me when I moved back to Chelsea in 1997 for £5.5m. At the time I was the most expensive English defender and there was a lot of pressure that came with that. I found it quite hard and Luke Shaw now finds himself in a similar position after moving to Manchester United for £30m. It does make you look at things differently...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: It’s time to give England’s players a break

There’s no doubt England’s players will be disappointed with the way things panned out in Brazil, but they deserve a break after the mentally exhausting season they have all had. They’ll feel like they are coming home prematurely because going into these tournaments you always think that you’re good enough to progress, so to lose their first two games and be out of the World Cup this early will...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Fresh faces give us cause for hope

In my years following England I’ve seen some great players come and go – and teams rise and fall. I can say with pride that I saw every game David Beckham played for England and I have also been privileged enough to have seen all of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard’s appearances. Watching the Costa Rica match it was hard to think that it might be both of their final appearances. I remember Gerrard...
