    In reply to Thomas Smith:

Looking at the email which I received from UEFA acknowledging my original application, it looks like there is only one ID number. This number is described as 'Your Personal Group ID'. So, it's the number you give out if you want your mates on another application to be seated with you.

But I notice that, right at the very bottom of the email, the same number is quoted as my 'Support ID'. It's also on my successful order, described as my 'Support ID'. I assume this means that if I want to ask UEFA any question about my application, that would be the number to quote.

So, yes, I'm 99% certain that this is the number which the FA are asking for. Presumably, they will use it to validate your details with UEFA.

Could I just ask about the Waiting List.
Will I be able to apply for a Round of 16 should England finish 1st or 2nd.
I did not originally apply as I have the round of 16 in Glasgow ( England could come 3rd ) in the future.
    Kind regards Edward David.

I strongly expect that the FA will only allow you to apply on the waiting list for matches which you had on your original application. This isn't supposed to be an additional application route : it's a rescue mission for members who went through the wrong portal with their first application.

In any event, having an unconditional R16 ticket for Glasgow would disqualify you from applying for a conditional R16 ticket through the FA allocation because of the possibility of you ending up with 2 tickets to the same match, or to 2 matches taking place on the same day.

    In reply to Edward David:

Any knockout match tickets offered to members on the waiting list are conditional and will be valid regardless of where England finish in the group. We will not be offering members the opportunity to wait and see where England finish before deciding whether to take any tickets offered to them.

Okay, thanks for help, hopefully give the England R16 a miss and just see the Glasgow one.
    Regards Edward.

    Information about the waiting list.

As previously communicated, we'll provide an update on the ESC website and via email later this week which will detail the number of tickets offered by UEFA, the allocation process for these tickets and the mechanism to purchase.
If you've submitted your details on the waiting list, please do not contact the Travel Club team for the outcome; you'll need to wait for the full update next week and follow our instructions carefully. Similarly, please do not email the ESTC team to request to be placed on the waiting list.

The reason for this is because we already have the original ballot data for those who applied in December through the correct route. We do not need that data again and is why we closed the waiting list to members who simply missed out due to caps levels.

We appreciate there are members anxious to get more tickets but we'd encourage members to read all the information we provide, including emails and news stories.v

blogs: Sue Smith: England’s forward focus can rattle Uruguay

Before every tournament most people are guilty of thinking a bit higher of England than they probably should - me included, I thought we would beat Italy 2-0! But despite the result I think we must take lots of positives from the performance. It was great to see the players actually go for it in the match and I thought we were quite entertaining. Raheem Sterling was great - every time he got the ball he looked dangerous...

blogs: Graeme Le Saux: Deny Luis Suarez space and England can prevail

How do you stop Luis Suarez? The key for England will be communication and getting tighter defensively than they did against Italy. There was an uncertainty and a vulnerability to England's defence, particularly down the left, on Saturday night...

blogs: John Hemmingham: Even Balotelli’s fiancée knows this band on the run

There is no better place to be as the leader of England’s band than at a World Cup in Brazil – but the one downside is we don’t know if we’ll be allowed to play inside the stadiums! This country has two loves, music and football...

blogs: Tim Vickery: Brazil-Spain jostles for position as football's new super-rivalry

Now might be a good time to remind everyone that Spain lost their first match in the last World Cup – and look what happened to them! And so, to take our minds off the result in Manaus, I decided to have a look at one of world football’s most...

blogs: Adrian Bevington: The connection between England’s players and fans at a World Cup cannot be overestimated

Even now I can recall it perfectly. Lucio stumbled and miscontrolled when heading towards his own goal, and Michael Owen seized the moment. I knew at that point, in Shizuoka in 2002, that Michael would score. And I have to confess that at that moment I really did think we are going to win the World Cup. It is an emotion that takes over you, and although it didn’t turn out to be correct, one of the great pleasures...
