UEFA EURO 2020

DISABLED CARERS TICKET

I am a blind travel club member, who has just tried to order tickets for the England games and it won't let me proceed unless my helper is a travel club member too.

Have any other disabled members come across this problem today?

This is clear discrimination and totally unacceptable.

Do you want my group ID? I'd be happy to go in with you. Only thing is I've got no caps but I've applied for all England games.

Haven’t tried yet but when wife phoned the FA the other day asking about this she was told as a carer if she had a membership number she didn’t have to be a travel club member.
I know under the terms and conditions on the UEFA website that it states the carer has to be a travel club member so there seems to be some confusion over this. As you are probably aware normally for away games the carer does not have to be a travel club member but as UEFA are in charge of the issuing of tickets for this tournament then perhaps the rules have been changed.
It looks like it will mean another call to the FA tomorrow to establish what is happening.

In reply to James Goodson :

Thanks for the offer James but I already have regular helpers who take me along to games.

It would be ridiculous to ask them all to join the club.

    Cheers, John

    Thanks Anthony.

Yes, they will be getting a call from me too.

My carers aren't even supporters club members, so I suppose they had better sighn up, presuming that it's still possible.

    Thanks, John

I don’t know if you have contacted the FA already but if not this is what you have to do.
Get a fan number for your carers by registering them as standard members. When you have got a fan number for them ring the disabled help line and give them the fan numbers. They will then upload these to UEFA and by Monday afternoon you should be able to apply for tickets and those numbers for carer tickets will then be accepted.
The carer does not have to be a travel club member and the FA are aware of the problem. If after contacting the FA and giving them the carers fan number details to be uploaded it still doesn’t work on Monday afternoon you must go back to the FA immediately and they will then look into it further.

    Thanks again Anthony.
Yes, called them earlier and they explained.

Turns out now that my main hekper has a fan number from a few years ago, so that makes life easier to start with. Not sure what will happen if I take a different carer to mone of the games ut we'll cross that bridge when we come to it !

Not been on the forum before, do we have adisability section do you know ?

    All the best,
    John

No there is no disability section on the forum but if you need advice on anything just ask and I’m sure somebody will try and help.
I myself don’t post very often but when I’m logged in will always try and help people with queries about the disabled section.
Have to say this is the first time we have had problems when applying for tickets for the wheelchair section for tournaments and that includes last year’s World Cup in Russia and Euro 2016 in France.

    In reply to Anthony Hammond:

Has anyone successfully submitted their application after having the carer’s FAN Number uploaded? How long did it take for the FAN Number to be uploaded?

I phoned on Monday but the website is still saying the FAN Number is invalid.

Having the same problem wife was told by e-mail yesterday that it has been uploaded and UEFA were putting it on their system last night. Tried this afternoon and you can guess the rest.
Have been following England away since 2003 and have never had problems in getting disabled tickets for tournaments before but this time it has been a nightmare.

At last finally got it sorted for the carers membership number to be accepted.
Only took just over a week but as they say better late than never.
