Let’s be patient and positive

For those of us lucky enough to be at Wembley tonight let’s be positive and patient in our support. The last two matches in block 507 I’ve been unfortunate enough to be in front of people who are not happy from the first to the last whistle.

Southgate has got everything call right, yes it was a hard watch at times in the group games but we won, we have got better as the tournament has progressed and are in a final. So let’s be patient and support the team in a positive way, no booing, no saying this is ***, no calling for Grealish from the 5th minute, and when he does come on say his overrated. (Yes someone actually said that).

If you can’t go to a Euros final and support the team in a positive way, you might as well stay at home.

COME ON ENGLAND! IT’S COMING HOME!

Croatia fans/tickets.

When I saw that the FA had obtained extra tickets for the Croatia game,I thought oh good another 3,000 going on sale.

Does any one know if Croatia have sold their allocation? Will they be allowed to travel....could they have been sold to Croatians living here.

If not wo has got them?

Or have I missed something?

UEFA shambles - £800 worth of tickets refunded and NO games in ballot.

Absolutely devastated at the news today.

Applied with a friend - me (16 active CAPS, him (11 active CAPS). Allocated every single England game recently refunded £800 give or take each.

Into the ballot and every game unsuccessful except;

We applied together and I’ve been given a Croatia ticket category 2 and he hasn’t. I’m clearly not in the top 70% of cappers, but they’ve allocated me a Croatia ticket and not the other two. He has been UNSUCCESSFUL in ALL group games. How have they decided I’m eligible for a Croatia ticket, but not Scotland or Czech.

Applied together, been screwed together. We are both bitterly disappointed. I’d rather have both of us been unsuccessful than me obtaining ONE out of the possible SIX tickets between us both.

None of it makes any sense and tbh I don’t really want to go to a game on my own. It just defeats the object of going with friends / family and having that special atmosphere.

Can anyone please explain to me ( top top cappers, with a lot of experience of following England for donkeys years) how I have somehow been accepted to one game and not the others?? This ballot seems to be drawn as random as it gets and it’s wholly upsetting after all the summer we have looked forward to for the best part of two years now.

just received my mobile tickets for England v Scotland - pretty gutted they are cat 1 tickets that were 185 euros are high up in the gods in the top tier 23 rows back !

anyone else had the same ?

Moan about entry time slots

We have known for some time that there would be 30 minute stadium entry time slots and the reasons are justifiable. But I was shocked to see that the earliest time slot is 3 to 2.5 hours before kick off. Let's give the time slots some scores.

1 = 1 to 0.5 hours before kick off
2 = 1.5 to 1 hours before kick off
3 = 2 to 1.5 hours before kick off
4 = 2.5 to 2 hours before kick off
5 = 3 to 2.5 hours before kick off

On that basis, my score is 5 + 5 + 3 = 13

Couldn't they have spread the misery a little more evenly ? I have to spend 8 hours behind the wheel for a round trip to Wembley fixtures which makes it a long day. I don't welcome having the day made hours longer. It's particularly annoying to have been given the earliest time slot for the Croatia match which kicks off at 2:00 pm. I'll need to leave the house at a time when I'm usually still in the Land of Nod, only to have to sit on a plastic seat twiddling my thumbs for longer than it takes to fly to the Med.

The group matches only have 25% crowds. What will happen for the semi-finals and final when it is confidently expected that 50% crowds will be allowed ? Will some fans by instructed to arrive 6 hours early ? Of course not because the stadium only opens 3 hours before the match. It will be the same time slots as above. If 5 time slots are enough for a 50% crowd then you don't need more than 3 time slots for a 25% crowd.

I call upon the Wembley stadium authorities to immediately issue a statement saying that, for any fixture with a 25% crowd :

Fans allocated the entry time slot 3 - 2.5 hours before kick off may enter in the 2 - 1.5 hours time slot
Fans allocated the entry time slot 2.5 - 2 hours before kick off may enter in the 1.5 - 1 hours time slot

Ticket rationing at Wembley EURO matches - the real culprits

Some of the rationalisations of the 3000 ticket allocation to ESTC members have been too accepting of that mean number - some explanations verge on the pompous and patronising. Putting aside references to the pandemic etc, the real explanation is to be found in UEFA's traditional arrogance - in the good old FIFA tradition - and the English FA's active or passive support.

A 3000 allocation has been justified as a "fair" pro-rata reduction in the usual 12000 allocation. An allocation of 12000 as a share of the 85000-90000 capacity is outrageously unfair. Remember there has been no general sale to the public of tickets for the EURO matches at Wembley - we all had to be paid-up ESTC members. Where the heck were the other 75000-plus tickets allocated originally?

The balance of reduced capacity tickets i.e. about 15000 or so, after the 3000 allocated to England Fans, and 3000 to the opponent team Fans, are clearly going to UEFA, it's mates, cronies, assorted hangers-on, and the lucrative hospitality ticket holders. Most likely as a result of a cowardly deal struck by the English FA with UEFA, to get the matches "awarded" to Wembley.

This unfair allocation has to stop for future tournaments. I do not begrudge those who heard on Thursday that they have tickets - good luck to them. The ballot process was fair, given constraints resulting from the pandemic. The real issue remains the unfair original share allocated to Supporter Club members - England, and Opponents too!.

This unfairness is reflected in ticket allocation for the Men's Champions League final in Portugal. Out of 20000 available tickets, just 12000 are allocated to the two English Finalists, to be split 50;50. Leaving 80000 other tickets. A British Government Minister said this week that UEFA wanted 2000 tickets for "UEFA Delegates" - a polite term for the mates, cronies, hangers-on who fancy a jolly in sunny Portugal.

Euro 2021 Tickets - stick or twist?

I've just read UEFA's latest reminder that the final date for optional return of tickets is 22nd April. Things may be a bit clearer by then, but who knows what the situation will be in June and July? So we could find ourselves still holding valid tickets for a knock-out match somewhere like St Petersburg, but be barred from travelling there and lose a few hundred quid. Are others planning to return any tickets or just keep fingers crossed? Having already booked accommodation for Middlesborough, I guess I'll stick and hope.
