You could tell from the way he was getting back and the way he was running, he was absolutely shattered. He also knows that he isn't fully fit yet, so why is he not saying to Roy Hodgson 'I am not fit yet'. He could easily turn down the opportunity to play(granted is difficult) but why not become fully fit again and play at his absolute best?!.

What sort of training do footballers do these days that makes a 19 year old athlete so tired. Players these days have their own personal dietician, trainers, masseurs, fitness programme and still 'get tired' by October. I would love to see some of these pampered lazy ego maniacs do a real weeks work. It would probably kill the poor little lambs.

Where is the incentive for clubs like Southampton who are one of the that develop young. Southampton do not need the money and have tried desperately to keep hold of their players.

I think you'll find that Luke Shaw has had more premier league time than Oxlade Chamberlain has had who signed for Arsenal three years ago. I do not see why it is right for Barkley to stay at Everton but it is right for Shaw to move on as Shaw has only had 18 months playing in the first team.

The shameful thing is that talent development is low down on the priority list the bigger clubs which is the underlying reason for England's failure.

I think everyone is a lot less nervous heading into a World Cup as the nation anticipates that England's future stars will start shining in Brazil.

Personally I am quite optimistic about England's chances of reaching knockout football - we'll do it with difficult circumstances by the odd goal but with the boot on the other foot I believe the other nations are wary of us too!

Spectacular, aren't they?

There was controversy whether or not we should have had 8 instead of 12 city hosts, but having thought long and hard about it, I believe 12 is the right choice: why should we limit the profit and benefits of the World Cup to Rio and São Paulo. Brazil is the size of a continent, all regions are now included.

As for infrastructure legacy, perhaps we should blame the Media: dozens of ultra-important projects have been delivered, from 21 Airport new terminals (21!), toa brand new Port, metro and many others.

This site lists some of the works already delivered:

www.copa2014.gov.br/.../vinte-grandes-investimentos-que-ficarao-para-a-populacao-apos-a-copa

Lastly, I hope and am confident you're all gonna have a fantastic time in Brazil, although my heart is set on the Seleção Canarinho, I hope England does well.

Try not to fall in love, will ya?

See you in Rio!
